Luxury self catering apartment in a B listed Georgian building with many beautiful period features. Furnished and decorated to a high standard. Centrally located, within walking distance of all Edinburgh's City centre attractions. Free parking in our private gated lane. The space ABOUT THE APARTMENT: There are antiques and original art works every where. There are 3 bedrooms and there are different bed size possibilities, at present it is set up with: BEDROOM 1: double bed BEDROOM 2: double bed BEDROOM 3: kingside bed and 1 single bed. Please note: The kingsize bed becomes 2 singles when required by unzipping the mattresses. There is 4th single bed in the living room, it doubles up as a seat or day bed( see photos) There is 5th single bed, it is movable as it is an inflatable bed of good firm quality, and 45cm height. We can place this one in bedroom 1 or bedroom 3. Please let us know your preferred arrangements. One of the bedrooms is accessed through a secret door in the house, but we'll give you a chance to find the door before we tell you where it is! There are 2 bathrooms, one with a bespoke sunken bath and hand held shower, please see the photographs. The second bathroom with a walk in shower room and bespoke features too, ensuite to the red bedroom. A large living room with a huge original mirror, many books and lots of comfortable sitting. There is a piano, and there is also NETFLIX. Also a DVD library including kids films. Large and well equipped kitchen with dining table, flagstones floor, Belfast sink, dresser, cooking facilities ( electric oven and fan oven as well as 2 grills and gas hobs ). Wooden floors. All rooms have natural light from windows. WHAT WE OFFER: There will be cooking ingredients like oil, herbs & spices...and other things like a variety of teas and coffee. Linen and towels provided. If it is Christmas there will be treats! Box of organic vegetables and fruit can be arranged (extra charge) ABOUT THE LOCATION: It’s a lovely leafy area with several nearby parks. Has cafes, restaurants, pubs , bakeries , shops nearby too. Its close to the glorious Holyrood Park, to Carlton Hill with fabulous views, to the Royal Mile, The Parlament and the king's home of Holyrood Palace. See the location! There are countless buses from a minute walk away to get you to every corner of the city, but you might as well walk! The following distance measures were done by my walking pace which I consider normal although my husband who is much taller will reach destination quicker than I......so here we go: It is 7 minutes walk from the Parlament, the Holyrood palace and the Royal Mile. Also if you follow Regent Terrace ( which is just by us) you will reach Princess Street in 10 minutes and this one is a glorious walk with panoramic views of Arthur Sit and Edinburgh, I love this route. Also if you take Royal Terrace you can reach the Play House and the New town in 7 minutes...another beautiful walk. ABOUT US: We, Tom and Carmen, are both artists, Tom is a musician and I am a painter. We have delighted in creating a home that is simple and harmonious, and restored this home with all our love and care, and with beauty and comfort in mind. For that reason we are very happy when people come to enjoy our work and tell us of their experience. ABOUT PARKING: We offer private parking in our lane, behind our building, fenced with a coded padlock. Furthermore, the streets off our street are free parking, we usually park in Abbey Lane, a few minutes walk. Abbeyhill colonies is also free parking. Also from 1.30 pm on Saturday you can park on our street until Monday morning. Please feel welcome to ask any questions. Guest access You may have the apartment to yourselves. Other things to note We request a deposit of £300 against potential damages via a Stripe link we will send you. We don’t require it until a day before your arrival and return it when the linens return from the launderette.
