A game table with a chess set fills the nook by the piano, and the parlor provides a perfect reading space with many books available, though the ornate corner fireplace is decorative only. Two guitars, a new Roku TV, good WiFi, and a small record player with LPs round out other entertainment options. Most rooms have a small desk for any writers who might feel inspired, and the art room has watercolors, acrylics, pencils, charcoal, brushes, sketchbooks, and even a French easel for plein air painting in the upstairs coat closet. The kitchen is completely outfitted, including two big ovens, an electric stove top, microwave and a dishwasher (see the detailed list in "amenities"). Christmas decorations and extensive outdoor lights transform Songbird into a festive winter sight. Spring blossoms start filling the gardens in March, and hundreds of peonies explode in May. Watch the parades down Main Street from wicker seating on the front porch, or enjoy the peaceful summer sounds and stars or fireflies at night.
