Whether you're embarking on a solo adventure or traveling with a companion, our ensuite room offers the perfect respite. This room has its own private main entrance door that gives you privacy and airflow if needed. Feel at ease as you retreat to your personal oasis, knowing that you can relax and enjoy your time undisturbed. The space Step onto the cozy balcony, a hidden gem that overlooks our inviting swimming pool and lush garden. Here, you can bask in the warm embrace of nature as you relish the tranquil outdoor ambience from the comfort of your own room. It's the perfect spot to start your day with a cup of coffee or unwind in the evening, enjoying the soothing sights and sounds that surround you. To enhance your experience even further, we offer a complimentary hot breakfast served at our open terrace downstairs by our sparkling swimming pool. This thoughtful touch provides you with the best of both worlds – the inviting atmosphere of a cozy home combined with refined standards of a boutique guesthouse. We recognise that not all guests wish to cook and handle kitchen chores during their stay. We offer an option to order dinner from our kitchen, allowing you to savor a taste of Kenyan cuisine. Still, there various local eateries in the Nyali neighbourhood, offering a diverse selection to cater to your personal taste, preferences and pocket. Guest access You will enjoy a variety of outdoor spaces: • A large spacious open terrace by the swimming pool. Enjoy this space over breakfast and other meal times or simply relax and savour the beauty of the garden and swimming pool view. If you find working on your laptop while outdoor inspirational, this space is perfect. It has good wi-fi access and spectacular views. • A large inspiring garden - just find your favourite spot and request us to place your sun-bed. Enjoy your book or simply sunbath. • A sizeable sky-blue swimming pool for fitness or leisure swimming. • Our practically equipped private gym with free weights, kettlebells, bench, fitness balls and exercise mats – you never have to miss your workout just because you have travelled. • A pool table, darts board and other assorted indoor games: cards, scrabble, chess & ludo – great for unwinding and bonding. If you are a solo traveller, worry not, my co-host Muruu is happy to be challenged in a game when he is available. • Balmy Earth Room – for spa treatments – massage, body scrubs and waxing- Contact us for appointment booking. Pricing details in our House Manual. During your stay We will give you space and privacy and will be there only if you need us. We have video bell at the open terrace by the swimming pool and a dedicated Staff- On-Duty mobile phone number that you can call if you need any assistance. If you wish, my co-host Muruu is happy to engage in some of the indoor games available - pool table, foosball game, scrabble or cards when he is available. On my walking days, I am happy to invite guests for walks at the Bamburi Nature Trails or the Beach Other things to note ADDITIONAL USEFUL TIPS • Nearest Beach access is about 20 mins walk or 10 minutes by tuktuk (auto rickshaw taxi). • Nearest mini-markets are less than 10 minutes’ walk. • Restaurants, and shopping malls are within a radius of 400mts – 2kms. • On request we organise guided Mombasa City Tour. •We are also happy to recommend service providers for excursions to Wasini Island and Safaris to Tsavo national parks. BREAKFAST We are pleased to offer you a complimentary hot breakfast during your stay with us. To provide you with an authentic Kenyan experience, we have an option of Kenyan tea (plain or masala) or coffee, juice, a tropical fruit of the season and an accompaniment of the day. Our breakfast menu is not fixed and varies each day, we may offer options such as eggs, toast, sweet potato in coconut sauce, arrowroot, pancakes, mahamri & mbaazi, and other Kenyan delights depending on the cook’s offer of the day. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know, your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities. ADDITIONAL MEALS We are happy to recommend numerous eateries and restaurants in Nyali area, offering a diverse culinary experience. On days you don’t wish to go out and explore, we are delighted to offer dinner upon request at Kes 1800. Our dinner package includes a main course, accompanied by either a starter or dessert, depending on the daily selection made by our cook. It's important to note that we do not operate with a fixed menu or meal orders. Instead, we take into consideration any dietary restrictions you may have and provide you with the opportunity to savour a variety of Kenyan and local Swahili cuisine. We kindly request that guests requiring dinner inform us by 3pm. Dinner will be served between 6pm and 8pm, allowing you to enjoy your meal within a convenient timeframe tailored to your stay. ELECTRICITY USAGE GUIDELINES: We prioritize your ability to manage your room temperature during your stay with us. Upon check-in, you'll receive a complimentary daily allocation of approximately 6(six) electricity units, covering lighting, ceiling fan, fridge, and basic electronic devices. Note that this may deplete quickly, especially with extensive air conditioning use. We empower guests to manage their AC according to personal preferences. This approach allows us to maintain reasonable room rates, ensuring that all our guests, including those who do not require extensive AC usage, are not burdened by unnecessary costs. If your initial allocation runs out, additional tokens must be purchased from Kenya Power Company. Our dedicated staff will monitor usage and notifies you if top-ups needed. To save costs and reduce environmental impact, use AC judiciously or enjoy natural airflow by opening doors and utilizing the ceiling fan. POWER SURGES At times, we may encounter power fluctuations originating from the Kenya Power Company, which could temporarily affect the performance of the AC. Please be aware that these occurrences are beyond our control. We kindly request your patience as we follow-up with the Kenya Power Company. Fortunately, these interruptions are typically brief, and power is typically restored within the hour. GUEST DECLARATION AND VISITATION POLICY: For the safety and security of all our guests and our property, all individuals staying with us must be declared upon booking. Undeclared guests are not permitted. If you anticipate the need for visitors during your stay, please inform us in advance. We reserve the right to accept or decline such requests, ensuring that our accommodations remain safe and comfortable for all. ENTRY INFORMATION FOR OUR VALUED GUESTS: You are free to enter and exit the compound at your convenience, as there are no curfew or restriction policies in place. Upon confirmation of booking, you will be provided with our staff-on-duty contact available 24/7 as well as shown strategic video phone bell for communication. Your comfort and safety are our top priorities. POTENTIAL FOR MINIMAL NOISE DISTURBANCE: During your stay, you may occasionally hear the Islamic prayer call around 5:00 AM in the morning, a common occurrence in Mombasa. This call is typically brief and lasts only a few seconds. We have found that the majority of our guests quickly adapt to this sound and are able to enjoy peaceful nights of sleep on the second and subsequent nights of their stay. We request your patience on this cultural phenomenon of Mombasa, overall, you will experience a tranquil and secure haven in your stay with us.
