It is furnished with an antique wooden dining table that seats eight, a long kitchen bar, two comfortable sofas, satellite TV and a DVD player. Unlimited Wi-Fi access is available, and the open-plan kitchen is fully equipped. Upstairs on the mezzanine, two stylish bedrooms are curtained off for visual privacy, if not for sound (!). LIVING AREAS LIVING ROOM Description This 50m2 room combines the luxuries of light, space and authenticity. Its vaulted ceiling reveals the impressive underlying structure (to those willing to risk straining their neck!). But the soaring Burgundy stone chimney, framed by the simple stone walls, is truly breath-taking. We deliberately chose to offset and enhance its beauty by embracing a stylishly modern interior design. The windows and French windows (in the kitchen, living room, dining room and office area) open on to the garden or courtyard, with its old well, and enable you to enjoy both morning and evening light. Equipment Two comfortable, 3- and 4-seater sofas are placed on either side of the fireplace; both can be pulled out into beds with high-quality mattresses (140x200 and 160x200). The satellite TV and DVD player are tucked away in the antique bureau next to a bay window that looks out on the old well. The cherry wood dining table seats eight guests. KITCHEN Description Facing the traditional the stone wall, the kitchen is resolutely modern in its design and equipment. It includes a long bar that is flanked by pillars that seem to support the East mezzanine. This geometrical elegance is set off by a natural earth and straw tone finishing. All appliances are embedded in the bar, leaving only the ovens –set into the back wall– and the suspended hood visible from the living room. Equipment The floor units include a high-capacity fridge-freezer. The ceramic hob has three touch-controlled rings and a remote-controlled hood. The electric, fan-assisted oven comes with a spit attachment, and has a warm door. The microwave and coffee machine are fully programmable, the dishwasher is silent, and the sink includes one full-sized bowl and one smaller one. We also provide an electric kettle, food processor, toaster and a fondue set. Sufficient tableware is available for 12 people (plates, cutlery, glasses, salad bowls, etc.). ……………………. ENJOY THE CHARM OF OUR MEZZANINE BEDROOMS! …………………………………… BEDROOMS MEZZANINE BEDROOMS Description We deliberately left the bedroom area open to accentuate the superb architecture of this cottage, and make the most of the light and space available. As such, we created two mezzanine bedrooms, one east-facing and one west-facing (17m2 and 12m2). A harmonious blend of stonework, metalwork and wood creates a tranquil sleeping environment, although no-one will be able to deny their snores! The bedroom area is designed to be convivial rather than intimate, making it ideal for a group of friends or a couple with children. Comfort Each room is furnished with a double bed (180x200) or two twin beds (90x200), with space available for a cot and an additional single bed (90x200). There is also a satellite TV socket. BATHROOM AND WC Description The resolutely modern, shared bathroom is an elegant bubble of glass and chrome that will fire you up with energy for the day ahead, and help you to relax comfortably into the evening. Equipment The bathroom is fitted with a sink and a large bath tub with a mixed hot and cold water tap, a rain-head shower and a hand-held shower head. A hairdryer is provided. A WC is discreetly tucked away in a corner of this bathroom. Local tourist tax: €2 per person, per night Guest access SERVICES & EQUIPMENT HEATED POOL Sport Our fully tiled overflow pool is 14m long and 9m wide: a joy for serious swimmers and children alike. Pleasure We heat the pool until October, and a night-time lighting system means that you can also take a moon-lit dip. We want you to make the most of the pool area, so provide sun loungers, bath towels and water toys. Shower facilities are available next to the sauna, by the entrance to the pool. Peace and quiet The pool is located some distance away from the cottages and bedrooms, so the fun and games of those in the pool are unlikely to disturb anyone’s afternoon nap. A separate entrance to the pool area –a concealed door from the main courtyard– also enables our guests to enjoy the garden undisturbed. Safety Only the careful supervision of responsible adults can guarantee safety in and around the swimming pool. Our passive safety systems will be of no use without your ongoing vigilance. The wall and protective fencing prevent young children from entering the pool area on their own. The pool can only be accessed by a locked door from the main courtyard, or through a gate from the garden. The pool is fitted with an automatic roll-over cover. However, please note that guests are responsible for ensuring that the gates are closed and the cover rolled back. SAUNA Principle Our traditional Swedish pinewood sauna, housed in a separate building by the swimming pool, has a six-person capacity. It is a dry sauna; you control the heat by pouring water on the rocks. Please use the sauna carefully and responsibly: if you have any health-related concerns or questions, seek medical advice before using the sauna. Benefits Heat is an excellent muscle relaxant that washes away stress. Adding aromatic essential oils to the water can also enhance relaxation. Above all, however, a sauna will leave you with lasting memories of fun and laughter with friends and family members, especially when you leave the sauna for the obligatory dip in the pool –or a cold shower for those not brave enough to take the plunge! UTILITY ROOM All guests have access to a washing machine and tumble dryer. We also provide the cleaning products needed to keep the cottages clean.
