The space The 1947 Rock Tavern Retreat has all the amenities -- a roomy, country-style kitchen, and stackable washer / dryer combination add to the home's comfort and convenience, and each of the two, large bedrooms has its own, full bath and private entrance to a sweeping, private, wrap-around deck. A flat-screen TV, with DVD Player is mounted on the wall of the master bedroom with a King Bed. The hand-laid Massanutten Mountain stone accents and wide-planked, knotty white pine flooring in each of the bedrooms add to its natural beauty. Luxuriate in a private, jacuzzi in the master bedroom suite. Fabulous views of the Shenandoah River, and the Blue Ridge Mountain Range are yours from a private, master bedroom deck entrance. The second bedroom deck entrance offers breath-taking scenes of majestic Kennedy Peak, the highest point on the Massanutten Mountain range. An infared, modular fireplace in the master bedroom suite with a Stearns & Foster mattress on a KING Bed for cuddling and an electric (wood stove hospitality -- and re-kindle romance! Guest access When you become a guest at the 1947 Rock Tavern Retreat ---you also have access ( unless reserved for private event - although Ususally this cabin is included with private event) to our #1 Rock Tavern River Kamp which is all waterfront on the Shenandoah River and is walking distance from cabin. Here you can swim, fish, rent our tubes, kayaks to use at kamp or we can provide a complimentary shuttle to bridge and you float back to kamp an approx. 2 1/2 hour tube trip on an absolute beautiful part of the Shenandoah River! Other things to note seeing wildlife during your stay is to be expected...Deer will pass thru the back side of cabin on way to get water or be seen grazing in our field. Wild turkeys are abundant and often you will see a flock of 15 or more young ones at a time...they are beautiful to watch. Canadian Geese pass thru at river kamp---and I have had a guest last summer even see a young bear swim the river. We see Bald eagles on occasion as there is an active Eagle's nest not far from bridge where we start you on your tube trip down the Shenandoah.
