Donna's sky garden (and a bedroom)

Double room in quirky 2 bd flat in Peckham. Close to bars, restaurants and arts stuff. Good transport links to the rest of London and beyond. Great space for relaxing outside if it's warm, a super sociable orange cat, and damn good coffee. The space My spare room is a comfortable and quiet room for 1 or 2 people (1 x double bed). There is space to hang clothes, and store bags under the bed. There is a basket of useful items like USB charger, umbrella, UK plug etc on the shelf. My flat isn't flat, it has quite a lot of stairs. So don’t bring large suitcases you can’t carry! The building was a 3 storey victorian house, then in the 1920s a shopfront was added to the ground floor, more recently converted to a flat. I live on the 2 floors above that. I've changed some of the space - including access from my small kitchen on to a first floor deck (the sky garden). This leads down in to a small walled garden. Guest access Guests have a private bedroom. Guests have some access to other spaces in the flat but they are are shared with me. Please use discretion using shared spaces if I am at home. I only have the one bathroom so that's shared too. My kitchen is very small without much storage space. So guest s do not have use of the kitchen except for making tea and coffee. PLEASE NOTE> You cannot prepare or cook any food here. But you can help yourself to teas and freshly ground coffee. I provide linen and towels, and there are items like adapter, iron, hairdryer, umbrella, guide books that you can use. During your stay This is my home so I will be living (and often working) here too. I would hope guests feel relaxed and at home. The only hastle you'll get will be from Scooter the cat - he lazes around the flat mostly but only gets in to bedrooms when guests invite him. If I go away whilst you are here I may ask you to feed him (in return for having the flat to yourself!). Other things to note The most important thing is to shut and lock the front door - ALWAYS lock the door with thelarge silver key when you go in and out. It does not always shut properly and can be pushed open from outside. Lock the gate at night and when no one else is in. My kitchen and bathroom are small. If you like an en suite bathroom, a long power shower, or need a place you can cook all your meals please then don’t book, this is not for you! The small bathroom does not have a window so please leave the door open after showering to air. Please be careful to keep the shower curtain inside the bath so water does not get all over the floor and leak through to flat below! Please make sure you turn taps off properly. Please try and cut down waste, conserve energy and recycle as much as possible. There are reusable bags in your room you can use to shop. The tap water is perfectly safe to drink. For recycling there's a blue box by front door for CLEAN metal, plastic, paper and glass containers etc (need to be rinsed out). Food / organic waste in brown box under kitchen bin under sink, everything else in the bins (polythene, polystyrene, etc). Please note that it is an old house and there are narrow stairs so you need to be able to carry (not drag!) your suitcase or bag up the stairs to the 2nd floor. If you use one of those huge suitcases this is probably not a good place for you to stay.
