Beautiful handcrafted log cabin at Haukeli with Ski in/out from Haukelifjell Skisenter. At 970 m above the ocean, the snow is guaranteed in the winter, and beautiful hikes start 20m from the door. 18 beds- unable to update from 16 persons due to Airbnb limitations :-) You drive all the way to the main entrance door. Note: Cleaning NOT included. IF CLEANING IS NEEDED- CONTACT OWNER! 1 NIGHT STAY POSSIBLE- min cost 3000noks NB: El car charging not possible- 15min drive to nearest charger The space Extremely QUIET place, you will lay awake in bed and wonder what is missing since it is absolutely dead quiet when you are alone. The Cabin is placed in an area with a lot of cabins, but have no cabins to the east, and towards south it is a long distance to the next cabin. Beautiful view facing south towards the valley below and Hardangervidda above. No road/car traffic in front of the cabin which is a rare thing up here :-) The air is very crisp and fresh, and the water in the tap likewise- best water in the world! There is a hike trail going 20m east of the cabin leading right up to the top of the mountains- take you 20 min to the top. On top of the mountain you meet another hike - ÅLMANNAVEGEN-the old "main road" from east to west when traffic went by horses or on foot-, where you can walk as long as you have stamina and food for! VERY nice place for a run! Bring a tent and sleep over up on the top of the Hardangervidda! ( two tents are in the cabin with backpacks etc, feel free to use). The famous TROLLTUNGA is positioned 1 hour 30min away from the cabin- drive to Odda, then Tyssedal and follow the signs. If you plan to go to Trolltunga, Please send me a message and I will give you some instructions as it is a much more demanding trip than most people expect - it is a HARD and LONG walk where the weather can turn ugly mid summer even- rescue operations are numerous through the whole season! Parking is also expensive for Trolltunga, so be aware. Check out the cabin user manual for links to "Trolltunga active" to see other options like Via Ferrata instead of walking the long route over the mountain. The likewise famous PREIKESTOLEN and KJERAGBOLTEN are also about 2 hours drive away through beautiful landscapes. Feel free to contact the owner for any advice regarding what to do. For cross country skiing you can go directly out into prepped tracks leading you North along the mountains, or go south down into the valley. especially the route going north is beautiful and not very demanding as you already are at 970m, and do not need to go any higher :-). If Northerly wind- drive a car to Haukeliseter further North, the ski back to the cabin- 3 hour in nice tempo, no hard climbes, and quite a bit downhill on the route. Good fishing in the area, trout- cabin "record" is 1,7 kgs, but normal size is 250-300 grams- perfect size for the frying pan. Cabin user manual have links for how to buy fishingcard (kids under 16 years can fish for free). The cabin have a rowboat down by a good fishing lake- free to use. Hunting is not allowed around the cabin area, but it is a good place to stay for hunting parties that use a car for access to their preferred hunting areas, hunting in the area is Grouse, Moose and reindeer. You will hear the grouse and see rabbits outside every day if looking for them- especially early morning/Late night- the grouses make a good sound for the morning coffe outdoor :-) Prices for the different times of year and vacations etc can be adjusted- contact owner. Guest access NOTE 1: There are towels and bed linen in the cabin. There are one washing machine and one tumble dryer- HOWEVER- people find out that washing and drying linen in the morning they leave take a lot of time- but still HAVE to be done before you leave. Take this into account and evaluate if you bring along bed-linen or whatever and take it home with you when you leave. NOTE 2: WIFI runs on 4G- the phone system. It is a limited system not made for streaming video etc. It is limited to approx 4 Gb a week- after that you can pay extra if needed. There will be a locked cabinet with private stuff, otherwise the cabin and its facilities are all for the guests to enjoy. There are cable TV with sport channels VIASPORT - CANAL DIGITAL is the supplier- INCLUDES CHAMPIONS LEAGUE, FORMULA 1, MOTOGP. Also a lot of DVDs at the cabin for use. 49" TV. Chromecast fitted, download your favourite series/film before going up, and you can see without streaming. There will be spices, washing powder, toiletpaper etc left at the cabin, some refill might be needed pending length of stay and if you are a large group. Tents, backpacks of all sizes, barbecue ( gas, coal, woodpit) , "gas table" for sitting around in the evening, outdoor furniture/sunchairs and equipment are available for use- stored inside the cabin and in the woodstorage outside. The small "annex" or logcabin outside the main cabin is turned into a self contained renting unit for 2 persons. This have a toilet/shower and kitchen with oven and 4 plates for cooking, a small fridge, and hot/cold water plus 2 beds. If you need to use this send a message and we will agree on the price. NOTE: The owner or his kids might stay over in the annex- will not be any problem and they park elsewhere if they are there. Skis etc are best to hire in the skilift. Hot tub- huuuuge- 3 hours to fill up and 5-8 hours to heat-contact owner if you want to use it- its so much work to heat its not worth it for a weekend unless you are very keen. Outdoor furnitures are plentiful, stored in the store-room next to the living room- separat door from the outside. Barbecues are also stored with the furniture. Other things to note Main door have a code-lock- code for you to use will be sent a week prior to arrival. Emergency key for this code-lock is also available in a key-locker outside the entrance door- this in case the code-lock runs out of battery etc. There is a gate closing the road some 1300m from the cabin- this remove unwanted tourists and traffic in the area. the gate are opened by a code or through your mobilephone as the owner will give you access for the time you are hiring the cabin. Works very well, but in the weekends the gate are normally left open 24/7. Code for the gate sent a week prior to arrival. Heating in the cabin are remotely controlled, so it will be warm at arrival. WOOD can be bought in haukeligrend or in the kiosk ar ARBUVOLLEN 5 min drive from the cabin, but normally there is plenty to use for the indoor oven, free to use as long as there are any left. NOTE: do not use this for heating the hot tub!
