Situated in a unique position on a hill between forest and vineyards with stunning views of mount Ventaux , the Dentelles de Monmirail and the Rhone valley. The holiday house comprises of a very large living with a well equiped kitchen area at one end. A holiday cottage with a large living room and well equipped kitchen area leading out onto a south facing terrace. There are two bedrooms, a bathroom and a utility area equipped with a washing machine and fridge freezer. The main room is heated by a wood burning stove and electric radiators. Internet access is by wifi and is of course free of charge. There is a large pleasant garden of 5000m2 (acre) containing an enclosed swimming pool measuring 9m by 4.5m and 1.8m at its deepest point. (Approximately 30ft by 15ft by 6ft). The garden and the pool are shared with the owner. There are several walking paths that start from the house. The route of one of the long distance walks the GR4 passes close by. It is possible to mountain bike directly from the house. The location is a bit of a paradise for dogs with the extensive woodland and vines surrounding the house. The region is an ideal location for active holidays. The Dentelles de Montmirail and Mount Ventoux are only a short drive away. The quiet roads are ideal for cycling and there is plenty of mountain biking of all standards near by. There is extensive rock climbing in the area. A spectacular Via Ferrata has been recently been opened above Buis les Baronnies. The region is of course renowned for its excellent and inexpensive wines. There is an large weekly market in Vaison La Romaine where they sell all kinds of local products. Vaison has a Roman theater where during the summer months they have concerts and a season of dance. Concerts are performed throughout the year in the Cathedral. A little further afield there is the spectacular Romain theater at Orange where music and Opera are performed. It is a World heritage site as is the Popes palace in Avignon. The region is of great historic interest. Roaix has been inhabited since the Iron age and was a Templar settlement. Vaison has extensive Roman remains as well as a medieval quarter and castle. There are several charming medieval villages within a short distance. Avignon is only 45km from Roaix with its famous bridge spectacular Popes Palace and celebrated theater festival. The Cottage has been awarded three stars by Gite de France The owner speaks English as a first language . Guest access Guests have full access to the grounds with the exception of the garden bordering the main house. Guests can use the swimming pool at any time Other things to note Dogs are welcome. There is plenty of forest and vines for them to exercise.
