The space Larne is surrounded by brilliant outdoor spaces to explore. There are excellent road and rail links to Belfast (the capital city) and fantastic connections to the coast road for those of you looking for a driving holiday in Northern Ireland and beyond. Causeway Coastal Route is a constant feature of global top tens and top fives when it comes to visitor experiences and bucket lists. Around every corner of this spectacular winding route you’ll find thrills and adventure, as well as peaceful retreats. The variety along the coastal route means there’s something for everyone and a multitude of ways you can see it. There are also plenty of places to stop along the coast road if you’d prefer to cycle it! The glorious Gobbins Cliff Path is a great introduction to the drama of the oceans and seas you are about to experience along the Causeway Coastal Route. This two-and-half hour fully guided walking tour through suspension bridges, tunnels and pathways offers visitors a unique cliff-walking experience you’re unlikely to find anywhere else. Carnfunnock Country Park is a short 10 minute drive from Larne and is great for family or group visitors. There is a family fun zone here which is a great for the kids. For people who want to explore the outdoors cycling or walking they have a range of trails for you to enjoy. Glenoe Waterfall is another wonderful nearby location to explore. A National Trust site which is a short walk away from the charming village of Glenoe. It is known as one of the most picturesque waterfalls in Northern Ireland. Glenarm Castle is a stately home and gardens just a short drive away from Larne. They hold a range of events throughout the year including their Christmas experience in December if you’re looking to get in the festive mood. You can walk around the beautiful gardens then grab a bite to eat in their charming tea rooms. Carrickfergus Castle is a short 20 minute drive away. A Norman castle full of history with it being besieged by the Scots, Irish, English and French. It is also one of the best well preserved medieval structures in Ireland. There are several beaches within easy travelling distance of Larne. Browns Bay is a small sandy bay on the northern tip of the Islandmagee peninsula, whilst Ballygally is just 5 miles north. This is a beach which has won awards for cleanliness and is therefore ideal for those wishing to go swimming. Larne Leisure Centre is a recently refurbished establishment that hosts an array of fun and exciting activities and facilities for all to enjoy. These include adult & kids swimming pools, a Fitness Suite, Squash courts, on site café and a theatre. Adults users can pamper themselves in the privacy of the luxury Health Suite featuring a spa pool, sauna, steam room relaxation area and hot/cold showering. There are three golf courses nearby, all of which allow non-members to play, and which provide a challenge made to fit varying degrees of skill. Local produce is available every Wednesday at the traditional market that is held at Larne Market Yard, right at the end of the road on which this property is situated and is only a 1 minute walk away! There is a storehouse in the enclosed yard complete with a lockable door for easy storage of bikes or other equipment.
