Description
Shuttaford Farm is a recently renovated historic 16th Century Dartmoor farmstead on the edge of the moors near to Holne and Ashburton. It is the perfect spot to explore the wilds of Dartmoor National Park, walk along the beautiful River Dart or head to the many South Devon beaches for the day. Or just relax in the peaceful surroundings of the house and its large garden. We generally do Saturday to Saturday bookings. Please message us if you want to discuss other days or duration of stay. The space A boutique architect designed space with a spacious contemporary glazed extension, Shuttaford Farm has a modern rustic feel with a large double height kitchen and plenty of room for friends and families to socialise. Underfloor heating runs throughout the lower floor to give a luxurious and homely feel on bare feet in the kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms. Large cast iron radiators upstairs and two woodburning stoves ensure that whatever the weather the house remains warm and cosy. On the ground floor is a large open plan kitchen/dining/living space, with a separate snug lounge and study. The lounge has a big corner sofa, woodburner and projecter screen, perfect for curling up and watching movies on a rainy day. Four bedrooms are located upstairs, ranging from a large vaulted ceiling super king size room with ensuite shower and bath, to a cosy fully kitted out kid's room. There are two additional comfortable double rooms, one with a spacious en-suite shower room, and a family bathroom. Large sliding doors in the open plan extension downstairs open onto the garden, with a sunny patio and large lawn area leading to a meadow with a summerhouse, deck, firepit, hammock, kids playhouse and swings. Lots of books and games are provided for entertainment as well as TV and dvd player. Guest access Guests have access to all of the house and garden with the exception of the adjacent barn and courtyard which is a separate holiday let. Ample private parking is provided for at least 3 cars. Other things to note Travelling with kids? There are plenty of toys and children's books to keep little ones entertained. We can also provide high chairs and a cot on request.
