Description
The apartment in the Kontor is on the ground floor of the Traufenhaus. It is modern and individually furnished. It can accommodate up to 3 people. The bunk bed is 1.40 m wide at the bottom and 90 cm wide at the top. The kitchen is equipped with a 2-burner ceramic cooker, fridge and of course everything you need to prepare a breakfast and a small meal. There is also a flat-screen TV and plenty of outlets to charge your mobile devices. The space The Traufenhaus is located in the eastern old town area at the lower area of Fleischhauerstraße opposite the Johanneum. The area in front of the house is now closed to car traffic. From here you are within walking distance of the popular shopping streets Hüx- and Fleischhauerstraße, which you can walk up and arrive directly at the town hall and Niederegger. The Traufenhaus is a listed house that was built about 250 years ago. What is worth protecting is the half-timbered construction with the historic beams and the brick walls slurried with shell lime, as well as the 4 m high ground floor, which was modeled on the old merchants' houses. Historically, the house, which is only 4 m wide and about 6 m deep, has developed from a wooden hut into a brick house, which has its own small residential unit on each floor. In the office on the first floor, a trade was traditionally carried out. Here it was a shoemaker's shop and later a vegetable store. The floors above were inhabited and rented to poor people, such as widows or guest workers. Other things to note Not an apartment for people who get cold quickly! The old masonry is not thermally insulated and on very cold winter days the electric heating creates a temperature of 20°C, above that it sometimes becomes difficult. Please bring warm socks!
