Description
Mill Cottage is a delightful stone cottage situated on a private lane in the heart of a pretty village located on the River Wye. The original cottage is over 150 years old and was the home of the sawmill manager, who ran the nearby sawmill, which has long since disappeared. It is now a lovely holiday cottage, that sleeps two couples and one well-behaved dog. It overlooks a pretty church and is very conveniently located for the village pub. The space The cottage has a spacious living room with wood-burner (one basket of logs and kindling provided), two two-seater sofas and a dining table that seats four. The kitchen, which is located through an open archway from the dining area, is fitted with a dishwasher and is well-equipped for self-catering with an electric hob, oven and microwave. There is also a separate laundry/utility room which houses the washing machine. There are stairs leading from the living room to the two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other a double. The bathroom, which has a full-size bath and separate shower, is also on this level. The cottage is heated by an oil fired central heating system. Guest access The entire cottage is yours during your stay. It has a small gravelled garden to the front overlooking the churchyard, which in summer is shaded by a large copper beech tree. The lane in front of the cottage is very quiet providing private access to only three other properties. There is a public footpath on the far side of the church, which leads down to the river meadow and is ideal for dog walking. There is also off-street parking for one large vehicle on the driveway. Other things to note The cottage is managed by Emma from White Feather Management. Emma is available for guests at all times to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. If, however, you have any specific requirements please inquire prior to booking to ensure that these can be accommodated. Whilst the Llandogo village shop is currently closed for refurbishment, we highly recommend visiting the community shop in the nearby village of Brockweir which sells local produce (as well as wood and kindling for the wood burner) and has an excellent cafe.
