Just a few minutes from the Greek Theater, UC Berkeley, Downtown Berkeley and BART, Chez Panisse and award-winning restaurants, LBL, and plenty more, this spacious studio gets natural light over the course of the day. Facing our neighbor's yard, you may even get to see wildlife passing through. With a king-sized bed, fireplace heater, nice-sized bathroom, closet, sit/stand desk, Keurig, television, and its own entrance, you can be comfortable whether you are here for business or for pleasure! The space With a private entrance and bathroom, this studio is en suite to our house, on the ground level. This is important to note, because it is separate to and below our living space and next to our garage. We are respectful, but please know that you'll hear footsteps or voices periodically. Although there is no kitchen, it has a nice kitchenette equipped with a mini-refrigerator (for potential leftovers), microwave oven (for heating said leftovers), and Keurig machine (for coffee lovers/needers). If you're concerned about working, the table is adjustable height, and serves as your workstation or table. The bathroom is large, with a nice-size shower. The closet has a tower fan, iron and ironing board, luggage rack, and extra blankets. Whether you're here on business or pleasure, this studio has what you need! Guest access The entrance is to the right of our driveway, along our neighbor's open front yard. You'll have access to the unit in its entirety, plus our WiFi is super speedy for folks who need to work remotely! [It's important to note that there are two steps down from the driveway, which might be difficult to see at night. Please use your phone's flashlight at night.] Other things to note -The Unit: Is below our home, so you'll hear our family above. -The Door: Airbnb will send you the code and our confirmed address about a week or so before your stay. Two days before your visit, we'll send more info about arrival and ask when we should expect you. The day of your stay, we'll update code time if the unit's clean and ready for you before the agreed upon check-in time. Make sure to read through everything so you know just what to do when you get here! -The Garden: Is our neighbor's yard - please do not walk across the yard! The fruit in it also attracts critters - most often deer and squirrels, but there are others in the neighborhood as well. -The Hill: We live on a hill that's steep in places, be careful of your step - especially when coming off of the driveway. -The View: That steep-in-areas hill provides us a tremendous view of the Bay, which is even better from the Rose Garden to our north (if you take our street to the right/north, just past where it meets Euclid). -The Neighborhood: There are great restaurants, Cal Berkeley, the Greek Theater, a beautiful view of the Bay from the Rose Garden, the Downtown BART station, and so much more within a short walking distance. However, we do live on a hill. Getting downtown is pretty easy (but some might consider the return less fun because, you know, it's uphill). There's not much we can do about it except enjoy the view! -The Ants: The beauty of living next to such a nice yard is that ants try to find places warm and damp during the wet season. We do what we can to stop them, but appreciate any notification and patience if they start their march indoors. -The Parking: Is street parking and is free, but has a two-hour limit Monday-Friday from 8.00 am-7.00 pm. We know some spots without the limit and have a limited number of passes, so please reach out if you're leaving your vehicle during the week. And please DO NOT park in the driveway.
