Sunny, quiet, self-contained studio, own entrance in a beautiful organic garden. A 10-minute stroll from Annaghdown Pier. 25 mins from Galway City. Gateway to Cong and north Connemara. Kitchenette with limited cooking facilities which include an oven-grill-microwave combo, a plug-in two-ring counter-top hob, toaster, tea and coffee, bathroom, patio area. Galway Annaghdown is a rural community 25 minutes drive north of Galway city. It is nestled on the shores of Lough Corrib with views across the lake to the Connemara mountains. It is steeped in rich culture and history, having both a renovated medieval castle (private, but viewable from the local pier) and a historic monastery . Annaghdown Pier is great for swimming, fishing, kayaking, and other water-based activities. Annaghdown is the perfect location for those wanting a calm, rural retreat with good access to Galway city and Connemara. The accommodation is a self-contained sunny room attached to the main family home, surrounded by a pretty garden. The room has an east-facing patio which gets the morning sun in summer and is a nice place for breakfasts as you listen to the hum of rural life. Acquaint yourselves with the family's free-range chickens, watch the endless buzz of bees at the two hives, see if you can spot Pepper, the calico cat lounging in the flowerbeds, and, for those comfortable with dogs, an introduction to Eva the collie and Alfie the terrier can be made, but don’t worry if dogs aren’t your thing, the can be kept separate. The roads around are Safe for walking and cycling, with obvious road caution, so you can enjoy leisurely strolls. Guest access Self-contained studio, own entrance, private patio area.
