"The Nest" Cosy ground floor mini-barn conversion

The Nest is our charming GROUND FLOOR STUDIO apartment in a converted barn from the 1800’s. Set in “Broadchurch country” in the village of Symondsbury, it is a short drive to Bridport, West Bay & several beautiful beaches along Dorset's Jurassic coast. With a 16th Century pub 500 yards away with great food it sits at the foot of the famous Colmers Hill. The area is well known for walking. Perfect for guests of weddings at The Tithe Barn, Idyllic place for couples The space The Nest is cosy but spacious. Perfect for 2 people. The kitchen is equipped with everything you will need, there is a full sized bath with electric shower. The log burner warms the place up very effectively providing warmth and atmosphere but there are also electric heaters. The brass framed king size bed is incredibly comfortable. It is a truly homely and relaxing space - much more artisan than modern, but also clean, restful and rustic. It is also worth noting that this is our own holiday home so there are one or two personal photographs and knick-knacks about the place. We are in the countryside which means cockerels in the morning and lots of spiders and bugs! Guest access The Nest is self contained, with a small carport which doubles up as somewhere to sit on a summers evening or for smoking (if you park in the lane). There are split levels with a small step into the kitchen and bedroom area. Not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. There is a shared courtyard which can be sat in but vehicle access may be required by neighbours. Ideal for wedding accommodation as the church is only 1 minute away, and the Tithe Barn at Symondsbury estate is a 5 minute walk. Other things to note Ideal for wedding guests in the village of Symondsbury. The beaches and Jurassic coast are just a 5-10 minute drive away, the Devon and Somerset borders are nearby with many historic and picturesque towns and villages. There will be noise from the upstairs neighbours moving around this very old building, and a very exuberant cockerel from next door may be your early morning alarm clock. Earplugs are provided for light sleepers. Despite being very rural there are takeaways which will deliver to The Nest, and Bridport and West Bay are a short taxi ride away with plenty of pubs and good eateries. This is a very old building in the middle of the countryside - we do get spiders and despite our best efforts they can and will build webs, sometimes between the cleaner setting up and you arriving!
