Get the true feeling of a New England country farmhouse just 20 minutes from hip downtown Portland and LL Bean. Charming two-room suite plus an additional bedroom. Enjoy your own bath and PRIVATE entrance. Our home looks out on a vineyard and flower gardens. XC skiing right from the home with access to many trails. We love living in our home. As only the sixth owners since it was built in 1793, we raised our kids here. Now we want others to enjoy this beautiful setting with us. The 2012 addition allows us to live in our own space while our guests stay in the historic part of the home. We offer a 2-room suite - bedroom with full bed and closet plus sitting room with twin bed and closet - and a separate bedroom with a double bed and closet. Guests have access to their own updated bath with 2 sinks, shower/bath, and heated floor during cold winters. A hairdryer is there for you, too. A Keurig coffee/tea machine is available in the guest quarters as well as a small refrigerator. Feel free to stroll the grounds and pick the flowers in summer. In fall, feast your eyes on the colorful foliage. In winter, bring your snowshoes or cross country skis to use on the trails throughout our neighborhood. We ask that you not bring your pets. WiFi access. Plenty of parking. Stroll the paths through the field and around the gardens. Jack and Laurie are in the house much of the time. We look forward to welcoming you, answering your questions, and helping you plan a great stay in the area. We are in an idyllic country setting surrounded by open fields and lush gardens. Our neighbors have a vineyard so guests get a view of their grapevines. We're close to the Maine Turnpike (I-95) and I-295 and within a short drive of the Portland airport, train and bus stations, all the cool happenings in the Old Port, walking along the coast, or checking out artisans' shops in Portland or Freeport. Portland, Maine is rated as one of the best US cities for its restaurants and brew pubs. We are a convenient place to stop on your way to skiing at Sunday River or Sugarloaf, the magnificence of Acadia National Park, or camping in Baxter State Park. LL Bean's flagship store is just 20 minutes away. So are the beaches south of Portland. You'll want to have a car as southern Maine has very limited public transportation. Uber is available in Portland. We love Maine and want you to enjoy it as much as we do. In your room you will find maps, information for your travel around Maine, and directions to favorite sites. Looking for places to eat? Just ask us. There are many to recommend.
