An oasis - Room 1

Searching for a warm and cosy stay in the City of Joy? You are looking at the right place. This is a private home in an old safe neighbourhood of Kolkata. It is conveniently located being about 6 km from the airport and also centrally placed from both the two main railway terminuses (Howrah 10 km approx.and Sealdah 8 km approx.) of the city. Metro is also nearby and accessible. The space The room is located at a private corner of the house with easy access to the main gates. It opens to the veranda overlooking our front garden. It is airy and generally filled with natural light. It comes with a private bathroom having toiletries and hot water facility. The double bed will accommodate two adults comfortably. A cupboard is provided for storage. Hot and cold drinking water would be provided. Provisions for making tea or coffee including electric kettle along with Tea / Coffee, Milk, Sugar Sachets would also be available. Free Wi-Fi can be accessed. Umbrellas and iron would be provided on request. Laundry would also be done but with additional cost. One additional standing fan would be provided. Air Conditioning is provided in the room. AC charges are extra. Guest access Guests would have access to our common sitting and dining area, the front veranda, as well as our roof terrace overlooking our backyard lined with mango and coconut trees. If you visit us during mango season you might be lucky to have a taste of the king of fruits growing on our trees only! The roof terrace can also be made available for sun-drying clothes. During your stay Guests are most welcome to seek us out on any necessary matter. We would be available 24X7. We as a family would like to get to know those who visit us and the beautiful places they come from. Thus if anyone is interested to extend one’s experience of a homestay into more than just renting a room but rather use the opportunity to live with a local family, learn more about the local culture and experience the warmth of our family, they are most welcome. But if you are a private person then your privacy would surely be respected. Other things to note We are an established, reputed family of good standing in our neighbourhood and are closely engaged in efforts to uplift the society around us. We are associated with various forms of social work by legacy and likeminded guests are welcome to share in our experiences. We are a family who are also interested in practicing the ancient Indian tradition of yoga and meditation. We would be more than happy to introduce our interested guests to such Indian customs.
