Rosewood River Cottage...Thora, Bellingen

A rainforest cottage set in 25 acres on the Rosewood River, about 16 ks from Bellingen off the Waterfall Way. The river is a magical place for swimming , connecting with nature or just relaxing. Its a place for just being in the moment. We adjoin the Gondwana World Heritage area and Dorrigo National Park, where the river begins it journey. The cottage is next to the main house where I live. The space Situated in Gumbaynggirr Country on the pristine Rosewood River with swimming holes, rainforest, privacy and plenty of space to relax. It is a deeply spiritual place. The cottage has a mezzanine bedroom, which sleeps two, air conditioner and heater, firewood combustion heater, self contained kitchenette, with fridge, bench top oven, microwave, laundry and a delightful bathroom looking over the rainforest. The large deck has a spa which also looks over the rainforest and river and an outdoor dining area with a private Webber BBQ. With a privacy screen. There is nothing more calming than going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the river. There are two swimming holes, rapids and smooth flowing waters. You may even sight a family of platypus who share the river with us. No fishing please. Guest access Guests have access to all areas of this beautiful property, except the main house . There is a lovely courtyard area between the two houses, with a great fire pit to warm yourself by, and for storytelling. There is also a large fire pit in the main garden totally private and away from the house. Other things to note The cottage is about 5 metres from the main house, but designed in a way which facilitates good privacy.
