Known for its white sandy beaches, crystal-clear water, and easy pace, Bwejuu offers the perfect balance of relaxation and authentic island living. From the villa’s beachfront position, you can step straight onto the sand and into the day. As along much of Zanzibar’s southeast coast, the beach moves with pronounced high and low tides through the day, constantly reshaping the shoreline. At low tide you may spot local women tending their seaweed gardens, a tradition passed down through generations, and traditional wooden dhows drifting past on the horizon. For a memorable local experience, traditional dhow excursions can often be arranged right from the beach in front of the villa — no transfers needed, just step aboard. Good to Know: Part of Bwejuu’s charm is its unspoiled, authentic character — and with that comes the gentle rhythm of island life. A few things worth knowing before you arrive: Power. Zanzibar occasionally experiences island-wide power outages that are beyond our control. The villa is equipped with a backup generator to keep you comfortable. As it is switched on manually, please allow around 10–15 minutes for our team to restore power during an outage. Island infrastructure. As a growing destination, Zanzibar’s public utilities and infrastructure can differ from those in Europe and other highly developed regions. Improvements are ongoing across the island, but occasional service interruptions can still happen. The southeast coast has naturally pronounced tides. At high tide the water comes in beautifully close; at low tide the sea recedes to reveal a wide, walkable shoreline and the village’s seaweed gardens.
