Description
3 BR, 3 BTR three levels Villa in a lush lemon garden, a beautiful courtyard with amazing sea view and swimming pool The Villa has been refurbished with the help of an architect and furnished with modern design pieces. Old and modern effortlessly meet. Fully air-conditioned and very well equipped, it offers a number of communal spaces which help make the guest's stays enjoyable. We have a pool between the lemon trees for additional relax (the pool will be shared with the Villa owners). The space The space is truly beautiful; it has been refurbished with great care and with similar care, it has been furnished. It maintains the charm of the old place it is but at the same time is fully modern and equipped to the highest standards. As it should be easily understandable from the many pictures available on the site, we have one room with a king bed, a second room with a queen bed, a third room with a bunk bed (perfect for the children) plus the attic which may easily be transformed in to a fourth bedroom with two single beds or with one double bed. The nice, cozy atmosphere of the courtyard, provide peace and rest after a long day out or on the beach in between the scented lemon trees in a typical Mediterranean setting. The pool - which will typically be open from late May / early June until the middle of September - allows our guests to relax even more when back at the Villa after a long day out. The Villa - being on three levels - has many stairs and old people and young children may find it a bit difficult or not entirely safe Guest access Sorrento is close to an incredible number of world famous attractions for all tastes : from Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius (the largest volcano on continental Europe) to the glamorous island of Capri and the villages of Positano and Amalfi. From the summer music festival in Ravello to the many internationally known museums in Naples. From the highest concentration in Italy of starred restaurant to the peace of the temples in Paestum. All of this at less of an hour from Sorrento which is per se one of the most visited touristic destinations in Italy with a long tradition of foreign visitors starting in the late 18th century. Sorrento is easily accessible by car or by train and is just an hour away from the international airport of Naples (even though with traffic it may take longer). Other things to note Please note that - since the pool and its deck are not very large - when the pool is shared not necessarily all guests may enjoy a sun bed. The city of Sorrento applies a so-called "Tourist Tax" which should be paid - upon arrival - to the owner of the Villa or the property manager who in turn will pay it to the City of Sorrento; such tax is equal to Euro 3.00 for each adult guest for each day up to 7 days max (adults means older than 18). Priora, the small village where the villa is located, is on the hills above Sorrento, ten minutes’ drive from the center and has no grocery shops and only two easy-going restaurants; guests will need to reach one of the small villages around the property (there are three including Sorrento within 10 minutes’ drive from the Villa) to shop for food and groceries (we provide shopping service upon request for a modest fee). Restaurants are scattered all around and easy to reach with a car but not in walking distance with the exception of the two mentioned above. The Villa does not provide a parking place within the premises, but it is very easy (and totally safe) to park along the public road immediately close to the Villa with small cars (a bit less with a van); Priora is a very small quiet village with no traffic. Although Priora is served by two bus lines, during the summer the service may prove tricky as busses are often full when the pass by Priora and may even not stop if already crowded. Taxis are generally very expensive; if guests prefer not to rent a car (which we recommend), it may be wise to set up beforehand some arrangement with local limo-drivers to get discounts. In light of the above, we recommend our guests to rent small cars to move around and make the most of their stay. We discourage renting small buses and vans as the roads are sometimes narrow and parking would be more complicated. As many of you know already, Sorrento is a world-famous location and so are most of the places around Sorrento (Capri, Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Mount Vesuvius, and Naples), while this is obviously generally good news, the popularity of these places often drives huge crowds and may result in traffic, overcrowded buses, difficulty in booking restaurants, price inflation and all other – fairly typical – by-products of success.
