A cozy welcoming two bedroom suite with separate entry in a tree filled neighborhood. Centrally located for local activities or exploring Puget Sound and its natural wonders. Restaurants & shopping are nearby and ideal for family gatherings, couple's get-a-away or solo travelers. Our "Lodge" was built in 1947 as a retreat from the Seattle expansion after WWII. As our family expanded, we added a Terrace and Loft in 2002 to care for aging parents. For several years grandchildren and great grand children have taken up residence, moved on, and started families of their own, leaving a warm and inviting space that begs for your company. A large open floor plan includes a living area with gas fireplace, Internet 4K TV (cable free), dining room table and computer work station. The bedrooms each have a Queen sized bed, windows for natural light and large closets for storing your belongings. The open kitchen and dining area includes an electric range & oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a refrigerator freezer. We've included an electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster, crock•pot, blender, a rice cooker and basic spices with an assortment of teas for your use. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking and tableware. There is a full bathroom with large walk-in shower, towels and laundry facilities. Outside your door is a covered wrap around deck to enjoy sunsets and everything else Mother Nature has to offer (it is the Pacific Northwest, so sunsets may include rain...wink wink). Parking is on-site, above The Terrace, limited space is available on the host’s parking site to unload your belongings. We kindly ask after you have “checked-in” that you park in the designated area(s) above during your stay (otherwise, your host may not be able to get out). We like to respect guest privacy, but interactions are not discouraged and hosts are always available to answers questions or assist when needed. Well within walking distance, there is a local fitness center accepts drop-ins, and for outdoor activities, Burke Gilman Trail along Lake Washington is three blocks away for walking, jogging or bicycling. Wine lovers and fans of microbreweries will enjoy the neighborhood, as within 15 minutes in any direction you can find a place to sip a local ale, whisky or take a wine tasting tour. A short drive will have you in Woodinville Wine Country and its 120 wine tasting rooms, a dozen+ breweries and distilleries (including award winning whisky). With 326-acres to explore, Saint Edward State Park is less than 3 miles away and “bursts with modern life.” This day-use park along the freshwater shoreline on Lake Washington, offers picnic tables on a first come, first served basis, and the Grotto (a popular wedding venue) and its several picnic sites are available for rental. “Kids enjoy unstructured fun on the grass fields and playground equipment, kayakers cruise Lake Washington and hikers and mountain bikers take to the trails.” A nominal fee may be required, for certain use and the park is equipped with an automated pay station for visitors to purchase a one-day or annual Discover Pass. For more information, please visit the State Park’s website. Tennis enthusiasts will appreciate nearby public courts that include lights for evening rounds. Summer nights are especially nice with a dip at The Log Boom Park in Lake Washington. And it wouldn't be a trip to Seattle without a stop at Starbucks, conveniently located at The Town Center of Lake Forest Park (next to two local pizzerias, several restaurants, grocery store, dry cleaners and pharmacy). Kenmore Air Harbor, Seaplane Base, is located 5 minutes away. Ideal for trips to the San Juan Islands, Victoria, Vancouver and BC Inside Passage or outstanding views and scenic tours of Seattle. Public Transit is nearby, as is I-5 and Bothell Way. Bastyr University (3 miles), University of Washington-Bothell; Cascadia College (5 miles) and the University of Washington Campus (8 miles). Please note, as is Airbnb's policy, we do not accept third party bookings. If you cannot be present during check-in and/or the reservation dates, we will not be a good fit and unable to complete your booking. Reservations placed by the Airbnb account holder may arrive later than additional guests. If you have extenuating circumstances and you think this applies to you, please feel free to reach out with a reservation request, prior to booking. The Terrace was originally designed for family and friends with limited disabilities, The Terrace provides ample space for walkers and wheelchairs to maneuver, including the bathroom’s walk-in shower.
