Yurt Thames : Gateway to the Coromandel

If you've ever dreamed of a unique stay in a magical Mongolian yurt, we welcome you to experience it in ours. Our property, though a mere 10 minute walk into Thames township, is a peaceful and quiet oasis of abundant flora and fauna, nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Coromandel. Thames offers many attractions: visit museums and mines, walk the bush tracks, swim in the river or up the coast, dine in a diversity of restaurants/cafe's, go to the Saturday market, and ride the rail trail. The space Our yurt is deceptively large and homely, and can cater for 2 people comfortably. We can not accept extra guests, unless by special arrangement. If the guests wish to sleep separately, there is a comfortable sofa (not a sofa-bed) and an airbed available, however we need to be notified in advance to arrange extra bedding. an extra charge will be made with price on application. The kitchen, equipped with all necessary requirements, is attached to the yurt, and the toilet and shower are easily accessed in a small building 8 meters away. There is also a bbq for your exclusive use. Guest access The yurt , kitchen and ablution room are exclusively for the use of Yurt guests. There is a small quiet space under the magnolia tree set up with a swing seat and two loungers.There is a driveway down to the yurt. Some people prefer just to nose into the driveway to avoid backing out. The yurt is only a few metres down. If you are a nurse, doctor or mid-wife on call, please be aware that mobile reception in the yurt can be patchy, although it does work. We have excellent Wifi though, which can be used for 'Wifi Calling', allowing calls to be made and received through wifi.
