This exuberant 1892 Queen Anne Victorian house was built by Dr. Isaac Porter Primrose, and was once the Doctor’s office and the home of his family. The house has fabulous oak trim and floors, colorful stained glass transoms, and original kitchen cabinets with marble counter-top. After being a residence for well over a century, the house has now been completely restored as a Bed and Breakfast. Four colorful Guest rooms offer private baths, several of which have required very creative plumbing! This beautiful Bed and Breakfast is across the street from our well known and famous Hyde House built in 1882. At Primrose Bed & Breakfast cyclists are a few miles away from one of Ohio's most challenging climbs, Lick Run Hill, with it's double 's' turn at a 19% grade. ATV enthusiasts are just minutes from the Dorr Run Trail Head with over 75 miles of designated trails for off-road vehicle riders, mountain bikers and hikers through the Wayne National Forest. The common areas (dining room, living room, kitchen, outdoor features are shared among all the guests in the house. Once guests arrive at the property, we may interact with the guests as requested & to ensure our guests are comfortable with their stay. We ask that guests call us or message us if they have any issues during their stay because our team is readily available to assist our guests. During Spring/Summer months our landscaping crew may stop at the property to take care of necessary landscaping. This task must be completed as the weather is so variable during this time of year. During Winter months our team comes our to clear snow/salt. On weekends, we have a chef cooking breakfast in the morning. Only 1 block from Nelsonville Square and closely situated to Wayne National Forest and 18 minutes from Lake Hope State Park in Zaleski State Forest with miles of trails for hiking and mountain biking. The 120-acre Lake Hope is perfect for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, picnicking and swimming.
