Cottage in Maià de Montcal

Quiet stone cottage part of a rural neighborhood which keeps another times atmosphere, near Besalú, with many possible walks into the forest. Family-friendly house :-) Refurbished following recycling and energy-saving criteria, we also compost the organic matter and bet for “semi-off-grid” holidays. We don't offer urban comfort but a simple rural living experience. Between Garrotxa and Empordà, there is easy access to many trekking routes in the nearby Natural Parks, Pyrenees and Costa Brava. The space You can enjoy the outdoors in a large surrounding garden and the woods just outside the estate. Please note that barbecues are not allowed due to the risk of fire, but you still can eat, chat, play games, read... The house has two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the second with two single beds and a sofa bed that can accommodate two people. With two levels, the bedrooms are on the first floor, as is the bathroom. The house has a living room open to the garden and a reasonably equipped kitchen. The house combines a classic country style with a vintage and informal aesthetic that has been lovingly crafted. Our family is committed to sustainability and we strive for a natural and renewed style. This house has a registration number as a vacation house: HUTG-038230-44 Guest access The house is independent but makes part of an old architectural complex, and given its uniqueness, it shares a community garden with the rest of the houses. Even so, there is a part of the outdoor space for the use of the house. Good coexistence in the neighborhood must be respected. The house has garden tables and chairs that guests can arrange to their liking on the front facade of the house. There is also a community parking lot where you can leave your vehicles. Other things to note Some guidinglines about our place: - We accept smokers but please, not inside the house. It's not allowed to leave butts in the garden as these are not a biodegradable item (it is rather contaminating). - The swimming pool belongs to the big house so we cannot give permision to use it. You can ask directly to them if you can use it. Usually, there are groups in the house and it is reserved to them, but sometimes it is empty and they agree. Nevertheless, a discrete attitude is appreciated, and it's not allowed to leave waste or to let children on their own. There are nice local options to go swimming, please ask and we will inform. - Please, save water as much as possible, as we recently were in an emergency for drought. Be also aware about the risk of fire. - Late night parties are not allowed - Insecticides and other chemicals are not allowed both inside and outside the house.
