The backside of the house beyond the kitchen is currently used to store firewood, harvest etc During your stay I am currently travelling, I will convey the information of family who will be there to greet you Other things to note Some of this is repeated- The house is powered by a 1KW Solar system. There is a switch to turn from solar to the state supply so there is always power at home. Also we pump water from the well on the property, the switch to which is in the kitchen . As far as activities around- there are local motor boat rides which you can take either in the morning (from 6 AM to 09 AM) or in the afternoon 4 PM to 7pm to catch blossoming lotus plants, village life through the canals and the sunset view of the lake. Sunsets are best for photos, and sunrise for lotus blooms. You could also opt for a more eco-friendly option by using our kayaks on property (donation based)- you will cover less distance but it will be quiet, slow and beautiful. Just about 300 meters away is a family chai/tea shop run by a man named Manasun. You get breakfast like Appam, Dosa, Porotta (like chapatti/tandoor roti), Puttu (steamed rice), Kadala curry (chickpeas), Chutney, and great coffee and tea. In the afternoon, they have snacks like plantain fry, vada, bonda, etc. They are usually open 2:30 pm- 4:30 pm. You can still get tea /coffee till a little later. They do not offer dinner options. Dinner is available via delivery apps (Swiggy/Zomato), or a bus ride/rickshaw ride away. As for quality of ingredients- I recommend- The Brown Crunch & The Lebanese Grills (shawarmas) You could also pluck star fruits or pre-order food from older restaurants in town (Wheels restaurant (beef/pork curries), Anand (vegetarian- Masala Dosa) and more. There is a great lunch place run by the women in our locality at Aymanam Panchayat- which is a 1 km walk from the house or 1 bus stop away. These lunch meals comes with rice and a host of different vegetable sides and a fish curry/ fish fry (optional). It costs about Rs. 30- Rs. 50 depending on the fish included.
