Oscoda in noted for its Marathon Canoe Race on the AuSable River . There are Canoe , Kayak , tubing, rentals and plenty of fishing , Boating plus historical sights . There's a Great Museum in Oscoda of the lumbering days . Oscoda is located within easy driving distance of 3 Light Houses , Tawas , Sturgeon Point and Black River , Great for photography or just getting out to explore . It's also near the Huron National Forest . Less then 3 walking blocks to main part of town which has a movie theater , restaurants and knickknack shops . There's 3 canoe , kayak & tube rentals in the immediate area . They can provide you with transportation up to different drop off points along the AuSable River.
