Welcome to Phoenicia, the greatest little town in the Catskills. Our little home is nestled on a peaceful block among quaint fishing cottages. The Esopus Creek runs nearby and is home to some of the country's best fly fishing. The mountains, lakes and streams are breathtaking all year round, and the peace of nature is easy to find. We can't wait to be your home away from home, and share the wonder of the Catskills with you. License #2022-STR-007 Our quaint cottage is a newly renovated space with all the necessary amenities for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans and dishes. Salt pepper and olive oil are provided for cooking. Both a French press and drip coffeemaker provide options on how to start your day. You can use the electric stove, microwave oven or gas grill to prepare dinner, or enjoy a meal from one of our many awesome local restaurants. You can dine in the kitchen at a drop leaf table that seats four or outside on the deck in the fresh air. You can even eat at the vintage bakers table set out on the enclosed porch. Both bedrooms have brand new Sealy Posturpedic queen beds and individual air conditioners when the summers get warm. The main living space provides the perfect place to unwind after a day of hiking or skiing. Catch up on your latest shows on our Samsung smart tv. You can access your Hulu, Netflix, Prime video accounts and more! Or if you’re looking for a little space to call your own, cuddle up on our oversized bean bag chair in our special little book nook. Guests are welcome to use the entire property. Both the front and back yards are groomed and provide sun and shade. The attached deck provides privacy where guests can sit and enjoy a drink or a meal fresh off of the gas bbq. A quick walk down the block leads to the Woodland Valley bridge and the Esopus creek. The small bridge provides an excellent vantage point to stand above the river and see the mountains, or get down to it and cast a line for some trout. My husband is pretty handy regarding anything that needs fixing and we live only a couple miles away. We are happy to interact with our guests if they need anything, but we do our best to give them space to enjoy their vacation uninterrupted. For extended stays, I will reach out regarding additional linens and/or trash removal and I encourage guests to do the same if they would like. The neighbourhood is friendly and quaint. The Esopus creek is walking distance away and there are multiple access points for fly fishing and cooling off. The town of Phoenicia is about one mile away. There are multiple stores and restaurants, as well as a hardware store and fly fishing gear rentals. Have a craft beer and some s’mores down the road at Woodstock Brewery, or enjoy a coffee or smoothie earlier in the day at Maeves place. The Phoenicia Diner is always a hit with locally sourced, delicious food inside or outside in “The Lot”. The vibes are good wherever you go and the locals are friendly. It’s important that all food and trash outside be brought in when finished. We do have bears in the Catskills Lately it’s only been a lone baby bear, he looks like a dog and he travels through the neighborhood looking for food and trash. Please don’t feed him, the more he relies on people, the lower his chance of survival becomes. There’s a nice elderly man next door who sometimes likes to sit on his back porch and listen to Frank Sinatra. That’s about the extent of the noise you should encounter. And there is a rooster far in the distance. Nothing disturbing, it’s quite nice actually, unless you have something against roosters.
