We have opened up our homes so that travellers get to experience local life and at the same time have a comfortable stay while enjoying nature. Please be mindful of the limitations in terms of luxury and please be respectful to the animals and humans that live on the property. If you are looking for anything remotely similar to a hotel, I will be more than willing to suggest a couple of over the top ones to you! Please continue to read on if you are all good with the Disclaimer. :) We want to make sure that your stay meets your expectation. Two very friendly dogs live on the property and they are let free in the evenings. The homestay consists of three separate rooms on each floor. All the rooms have an attached bathroom and balcony. The top most room accommodates 4, the centre room accommodates 3 and the ground floor room accommodates 4. The main house where my dad stays is located right by the homestay. Also note, you get one bedroom for 1-4 guests. Two bedrooms for 5 - 8 guests and three bedrooms from 9-12 guests. If you are 4 guests and need two rooms or you are 7 guests and need three rooms you would need to pay an extra 3000 Rs per night at the time of check in. If you aren’t taking the other room, they will be rented out to other guests. The homestay is located between the two towns, Kushal Nagar(18kms) and Medikeri (22kms). Some of the must see tourist spots and their respective distances are: Dubare Elephant Camp (5kms) Golden Temple (22kms) Iruppu Falls(60 kms) Abbey Falls(26 kms) Mandapatti (35 kms) Guest access It would be advised not to travel by foot past seven pm as elephants are bound to be around. If the guests are lucky, they will be able to see the wild elephants from the balcony itself. During your stay We will completely respect your privacy and leave you alone but would be less than a stone's throw away if you need any help. Other things to note My brother and I don't live in India. We started this homestay for my dad so that he is occupied and gets to meet all you amazing people. He loves to socialize understands English and basic Hindi. Can speak fluently in Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada. It would be our kind request to treat this place as your own home and not a hotel. 2. Breakfast/ Lunch/Dinner is an additional cost charged per person per meal and has to be informed by 10 am. Dinner service ends at 10 p.m. 3. There is wifi in common areas and phone network connectivity is low. Only BSNL provides connectivity as of now. You get Airtel and Jio connectivity on the ground floor near the signal boosters. 5. The location on airbnb is bit off. You will be able to find us on g/maps or on our website. 6. Rooms will be allotted based on group size and availability. 7. Early check in/late check out will be based on availability and will be charged extra. 8. If you have been living in Karnataka or in the rurals you would be familiar with the power cuts. We have a UPS as well as a generator that will be turned on till 11 p.m if there is no electricity. 9. Hot water will be available from 6.30 a.m till 8.p.m. It comes from a boiler which gets heated using firewood. This whole process takes about 40 mins and hence if hot water is required at any other times please let us know in advance. 10. There is no air conditioning. The rooms are equipped with fans. 11. Body wash, shampoo, one towel per guest, linen, dohar and pillow will be provided. Please bring any other toiletries like toothbrush, paste, sanitiser, insect repellant that you may need. 12. If you require a thicker blanket let us know. 13. Please carry your own reusable water bottles. RO water will be kept at the homestay so you can use your bottles to carry water.
