A cosy cottage letting set within a private small holding, situated right on the shore of Strangford Lough between Killyleagh & Killinchy. It is the perfect base to escape to the country, enjoy amazing wildlife and the wider great outdoors that Co. Down has to offer. The well equipped comfortable cottage sleeps five and has direct access to Strangford Lough, a secret bird hide situated on the shore line with a secluded wooded BBQ, fire pit and picnic area for guest to enjoy. The space The cottage is single storey converted cow byre within a quiet corner of a farm yard complex and opens on to a large garden area. Inside the cottage is all on one level and has a fully equipped kitchen, open plan lounge complete with a wood burning stove and smart TV/DVD with wifi. Sleeping accommodation comprises of one double bedroom and a snug double bed with single bunk bed above. There is a smart bathroom complete with a bath tub and separate walk in- shower. Outside there is large garden area, surrounding fields and a long stretch of shore line to explore. A wooded BBQ area with cabin, fire pit and large out door dining table are available for guest to use - NOTE our BBQ area has been badly damaged during storm Eowyn and is currently not accessible! Direct access to Strangford Lough within a safe and sheltered bay with nearby islands to explore make it a fabulous location to brave a swim, kayak or paddle board. An adjacent storage shed is available to keep bikes, roof racks and wet gear during your stay. Guest access The cottage is very rural and a car is needed to access the property and explore the local area. Other things to note A welcome breakfast pack is including home made wheaten bread, butter, jam, milk and tea and coffee. Complimentary fire wood for the stove, charcoal for the BBQ and picnic utensils are provided for guests use. An open canoe and life jackets are available to hire during your stay to let guests explore the water and near by islands.
