A track leads from the cottage directly to the mountainside, a 2 minute walk. PLEASE READ THE FULL LISTING, so as to know what is and isn't provided etc. A unique, refurbished old slate miners cottage (not the standard terraced house but detached linked, so there are neighbours either side) - providing guests with a homely, comfortable stay. DOWNSTAIRS: Well-equipped kitchen - fridge with ice box, electric oven/hob, extractor fan, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, Nespresso Coffee Machine Tumble Dryer in Boot Room (Outhouse) Ground floor wet room with rainfall shower, newly refurbished 2025. (The toilet is upstairs). Rainfall shower, towel rail, extractor fan. Spacious, beamed, living room with it's original, exposed slate fireplace with a Chilli Penguin wood-burner stove. 2 sofas, armchair, dining table and chairs, seats 4. Relax in comfort after a long day out, or simply enjoy staying in, chilling out, watching your favourite shows on the Smart TV (you need to bring your Netflix/Amazon etc log on codes). A small selection of games, books, Dvds available. UPSTAIRS: Double bedroom - standard double bed, large wardrobe, shelves, 2 bedside cabinets Twin Room - 2 standard single beds, wardrobe, chest of drawers WC Room - Toilet and hand basin, quite rare to find in the miners cottage upstairs! EXTERIOR: Outhouse - boot/drying room, can also be used for bike storage. Tumble Dryer, Boot rack, hooks, rails (kitted out for walkers, cavers, climbers). Excellent spacious, off road parking in private, gated enclosure at the rear of the garden (great for off loading/loading with kids, bikes and dogs). Enclosed, quiet, natural Welsh cottage garden with mountain view - with a purpose built BBQ stand (for placing a disposable BBQ on). Great spot for watching the bird life, including the ravens soaring high above. We encourage wildlife, so don't be surprised with seedheads and native wild flowers. TOWELS: Bath towels are NOT provided, guests are to bring their own. (For OVERSEAS GUESTS full sets of towels are offered at the time of booking as bulky items to pack). We DO provide: 2 kitchen T-towels, 1 kitchen hand towel, oven gloves, bath mat and 1 bathroom hand towel. LOG BURNER: From November to end of March we supply a starter kit of kindling wood/heat logs. Best to bring a supply of either dry kilned logs or heat logs and kindling wood if you are wishing to use, purchased from supermarkets. Please ensure they are small logs, no chopping of wood allowed inside the cottage/on the hearth. If unfamiliar with how to use, details are in the Property Guide or please contact us. The ash tray needs to be emptied each morning, an ash bucket is provided. Please close the air vents once the log burner is alight. This will reduce the amount of logs burnt and protects the flue. Gas central heated. Carpeted living room, bedrooms, stairs & landing. Highchair and travel cot available on request. DOGS - Maximum 2 per stay. £15 total per stay (1 or 2 dogs) OUTSIDE: We have dark night status, so minimal lighting in the garden (by bin area only) and none in the parking area and main garden. Please bring a good torch. Great star gazing though if weather permits! KITCHEN: Provided - condiments and selection of herbs and spices; cooking oil; complimentary tea bags and first morning coffee pods for Nespresso Coffee Machine; sugar. The large, enclosed, private parking area is shared with the neighbours. It has 2 large wooden gates marking the entrance of the driveway, which then opens up into the actual parking area. Access to the cottage is then via the double gates into the garden and up to the door. Walking distance to Titan Zip World, Bounce Below, Llechwedd Slate Caverns with underground and above ground quarry explorer tours and also Antur Stiniog. Walking distance to the Ffestiniog Railway in the centre of town - Co-op Supermarket, several cafes, several takeaways, couple of pubs. Short drive away in the Vale of Ffestiniog several pubs that serve lovely food and are dog friendly. Walkers, Mountain Bikers, Cavers, Climbers, Bird Watchers, Train Spotters, Photographers - all outdoor enthusiasts really welcome. We have an enormous amount of local knowledge - hill walking, caving, climbing etc. and can help with planning your holiday, as very keen hill walkers, cavers (mine exploration) ourselves. This includes the entire Snowdonia National Park, so all routes up Snowdon, including the scramble routes. Other things to note Dog bowls provided - but please bring own dog baskets/beds/cages. (However, no dogs allowed upstairs, on the furniture or left unattended at any time). Dogs are NOT permitted in the wet room. Please can dog owners also provide dog towels and ensure their dogs are well cleaned down before venturing past the kitchen into the carpeted living room. Stairgates are NOT at the property or permitted due to the age of the cottage, please do not bring your own. Please reconsider if you will struggle keeping your dog/s downstairs.
