Description
The Lodge is a beautiful cottage with two bedrooms, two wood-burning stoves and wonderful views. It is surrounded by woods and fields, and is reached down a private drive. You can walk out of the private garden directly onto a footpath, south to the Gartmore reservoir or north to the Ochil hills and Castle Campbell. We are 35 minutes from Edinburgh airport, 50 minutes from the centre of both Edinburgh and Glasgow, 25 minutes from Stirling Castle and 30 minutes from the Gleneagles Hotel. The space We encourage guests to enter the Lodge via the back door. When you enter the Lodge there is a small hallway: off to the left is the spacious kitchen with wood-burning stove, and wonderful views of the Ochil Hills. Straight ahead is the bathroom, and to the right is the central hall. Going through the central hall (which has a desk if you need to work), to your left is a sitting room with another wood-burning stove, and to your right two pretty bedrooms. One bedroom has a double bed, and one bedroom has twin beds. We do ask guests with children to be paticularly careful with the wood-burning stoves in the kitchen and sitting room. Once lit they become very hot and there is a risk of burns. There is also a fire risk from the wood-burning stoves. We ask guests to ensure that they do not leave anything close to the wood-burning stoves when it is lit. (There is a tumble dryer for drying clothes at the kitchen.) Guest access In order to access the Lodge there are steps up to both the front door, and the back door. As a result the Lodge is not suitable for people with certain disabilities, particularly wheelchair users. Once inside the Lodge the rooms are all on one floor. Other things to note We do ask guests with children to be paticularly careful with the wood-burning stoves in the kitchen and sitting room. Once lit they become very hot and there is a risk of burns.
