Govekar's Eco home resort

We are situated in Konkan or Western Ghats, one of the best bio-diverse regions in the world with a rich flora & fauna, a home to more than 350 species of birds and some endemic frogs, moths, butterflies and snakes to be explored. Govekar's Eco home resort is located on top of Parshuram ghat. About 250 kms from Mumbai and Pune. 700meters fm the highway, 7 kms from Chiplun railway station, very much on the Mumbai-Goa highway. A unique spot to view sunrise & astounding view of sunset on a background of river Vashishti. Our house is built with maximum renewable material like Bamboo & mud flooring to help nature conservation. Bamboo modulates the inside temperature up to 5degree Celsius in summers & winters . Mud flooring coated with cow dung gives you naturopathy. Home made fresh mouth watering veg & non-veg food in local Maharashtrian style is a delight to have. Enjoy local delicasies like Ukadiche Modak ( boiled sweet made with rice & coconut+jaggery filling), Solkadhi ( a Tangy smooth coconut juice & Kokam drink ),Fish curry, Kulthache Pithale & many more. With plenty of options for site seeing like beaches,forts, lakes, waterfalls,dams, temples,museums in an hours distance & places like Velas (Olive Ridley turtles conservation), Ganapatipule at 3hrs distance provides you a great time for 3 to 4 days. Guest access We have about 5acres of campus to explore. We have grown more than 1500 native trees & conserved more than 3000trees in past 10 years to attract birds & other fauna.A small butterfly garden, Spice plantation, medicinal plants, vegetable & fruit plants like Cashew nuts,Mangoes, Jackfruit & other native flora to explore. We can take you for nature walks to explore the local flora ,fauna & village, natural spots like a seasonal waterfall, a wonderful riverview point, landscapes, fishing spots, crocodile boat safari, an ancient 300+ years old temple & other sites. We have a small library of books for guests, a light Indian music collection, video Cd/dvd's , Interactive games like 6 sided carom, chess,cards and many brain teasers for kids & elders to make every minute of the stay is enjoyable. When the sky is clear we can explore the sky with a telescope. Enjoy a campfire during cold nights in the courtyard. Can arrange tents for night camping in the wild. During your stay Most of the times we (host) are present during your stay. We can assist/guide you for everything like travel/site seeing/ medical aid, etc.. Other things to note We are based in a semi forested area so we may encounter snakes & scorpions,caterpillars sometimes. We have to follow simple safety norms like sleeping on the bed, use mosquito nets, don't go in the bushes barefoot & in the night, keep the doors closed when out of the room,etc.. We will do every possible practical help to take the guest to a nearest hospital or doctor. But the legal/financial liability is not ours during any natural calamity. In the past 7 years this has never happened but we have to take little care to avoid such situations.
