The Simonds Guest House, West, is an old-fashioned double house of generous proportions, newly restored to its original pleasantness. All the comfortable systems: queen beds, Wifi, heating and air conditioning, electrical and plumbing are new. The furnishings are charming, decidedly period. The house is located in the heart of the Yakima Valley Wine Country and hop production, and within 45 min. of White Pass Skiing. Check Yakima Tourism for lots to do! The space Our basic price of $135 for 1 to 2 guests in one queen bedroom, includes a fully furnished kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, original sink and cabinets with old dishes and glassware, a vintage stove and refrigerator. The bathroom with new tile floor and the original claw-footed tub and shower is next to the bedroom with brass queen bed and ample storage. The beautifully furnished dining room with fireplace and large living room, include an inviting entry hall. A private porch off the dining room is comfortable for morning coffee, dining and unwinding with a glass of wine in the shade at the end of the day. The back porch with gentle ramp access has space for biking, hiking and skiing equipment. This a complete private home with ample parking, no one else will share your space. If desired this space may be booked for extra guests in second story bedrooms with one queen bed or a larger room with one queen bed and three single beds. This is a very private home for one or two at our basic price, but can easily be expanded when arrangements are made for 3 to 11 persons at $60 per person per night. NO parties, NO pets, and NO smoking or drugs. Guest access Fall has arrived, the colors are lovely everywhere you look. The garden around the house is in the landscaping mode. The irrigation system is installed so planting can begin. Our guests have access to our large beautiful private historic garden right next door, for strolling and relaxing, and a large swimming pool with dressing rooms, by arrangement, from May 20th to September 20th. There are many good walks from the house on the wild side out through orchards and hop yards, and down to the river. Our neighborhood pub, Hoptown Watering Hole, with its gourmet casual fare and many local brews and wines is just down the road. Many restaurants and groceries are near. Other things to note In November White Pass Ski Area has OPENING DAY, SKIING IS TERRIFIC and it is only 45 min. away, with very direct access for down hill, cross-country, and snowshoeing. We are very convenient to I-82, just south of Yakima. Many wineries and breweries are minutes away, and Yakima Tourism lists their many upcoming special events. In the Fall & Summer the fruit stands are overflowing with the delicious produce of our valley.
