The Writer's Nest is the former stonemason's refuge, built at the end of the 19th century, inside a stone quarry. The writer and owner Giuseppe Guin placed his novels in this place, full of stories and legends. At the bottom of the quarry, the overhanging rock still preserves the signs of the stone quarryers who worked there for centuries, taking stones from the mountain to build the villas and churches of Lake Como. On the lake shore, the grassy beach is enclosed by the characteristic rocks with circular steps, used in the past by shad and perch fishermen. “The Writer's Nest”, one hundred and twenty square meters, includes two double bedrooms with bathrooms, a sofa bed in the secluded living room and a wood and glass veranda, overlooking the lake. The library was built using centuries-old chestnut wood planks fixed in stone. The living room, with antique furnishings, with the old kitchen and the sink carved into the granite, is created among the squared stones of the quarry. The room, called the Libra room, overlooks the lake and from the windows rises the lapping of the waves crashing on the rocks. The room, known as the Lantern room, dominates the laurel forest and leads the gaze onto the natural amphitheatre, modeled in the rock. The wooden doors open with ancient bolts saved from the village farmhouses and the lights filter through old hand-forged iron lanterns. Three thousand square meters of meadow and woods extend around it, enclosed towards the mountain by a stone wall and towards the lake by a grassy beach. Guest access The villa can only be reached by lake. Transfers for check in and check out are offered by Rent All Como (2-5 minutes by private boat); as regards transfers during your stay, the staff will take care of organizing all transfers, from the structure to the port of Faggeto Lario. At your disposal will be a unique property, isolated Villa on the lake, with a beach, outdoor barbecue area, with dining table, sun loungers. Perfectly inserted into the natural context, it has everything for your comfortable stay: A/C, washing machine, dishwasher, TV, Wi-Fi, Netflix, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. Guests will have access to the entire property for exclusive use. Check-in is from 3pm to 7pm, as the property can only be reached by boat. In the case of late check in, an extra fee of € 100 will be applied, based on the availability of the boat.
