Pian di Meta Vecchia is in the middle of a large meadow surrounded by woods. To come to us you have to travel along a 7 km dirt road with a 300 meter difference in altitude from the town, a calm 20 minute drive. When we enter the dirt road it's already home for us, the animals know it, they are almost no longer scared. Don't rush, enjoy nature, don't be afraid of not arriving, the route is perfectly signposted, we are waiting for you! The space The farmhouse is surrounded by woods, our vineyards and olive groves, flowerbeds full of flowers and aromatic herbs that our bees love, and lots of greenery and nature. It was born from the renovation of an old pre-existing farmhouse and during the works we tried, as much as possible, to respect the old structure of the building, using natural materials: for the floors on the first floor, wood, treated only with oil and wax, and stone and cooked on the ground floor; for the walls lime and clay plaster, with barley straw. The beds are made of solid wood, free from glues and metals, and the mattresses are made of natural latex. The lighting is LED or with candles and each room is equipped with an electric current circuit breaker to avoid magnetic fields while we are sleeping. Our property has 5 double bedrooms and 1 suite. The rooms are furnished in a minimal way, all equipped with a private bathroom with shower, electricity circuit breaker and natural latex mattress. The internet connection is guaranteed wireless only in the common areas and not in the rooms, which thus remain free from unwanted waves. Guest access Don't rush to reach the farmhouse! A 7 km dirt road might seem uncomfortable, but the reward for patience is truly great. Going slowly it takes about 20 minutes to travel along the dirt road and then to reach the farmhouse from the town. Take advantage of these "slow" moments to observe the Mediterranean scrub and, with a bit of luck, the forest animals such as roe deer, hares, foxes, porcupines etc During your stay We are happy to offer advice on how to best organize your stay in Val d'Orcia! What do you prefer? Nature, art, landscapes, wine, food...? Other things to note Among the extra services we offer: -On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, in the evening, upon reservation, you can dine in our restaurant with a menu based on products from our production and from other producers in the area. - wine that we produce from our organically grown vineyards, which you can accompany dinner with or buy to remember us when you return home - tasting of our wines with visit to the cellar and vineyard, upon reservation -in summer outdoor hydromassage tub for a fee, by reservation, with a view of the Val d'Orcia, the water is not heated.
