You will need a car because the house is at the top of the hill, very quick highway access to 580, close to Oakland, San Francisco, Silicon valley. The neighborhood is very safe, quiet and pretty, Restaurants in San Leandro, about 5 minutes by car or Oakland 15 minutes by car or San-Francisco about 30 minutes by car or BART (Subway). Public transit is in San Leandro, about 10 minutes from the house, by car. This place is perfect for a base camp in the Bay Area, because it is very comfortable, the view is breath taking, and the room is safe and quiet. I travelled around the world as trapeze artist for most of my life, so I know what is necessary for the traveller to feel welcome. Concerning privacy, you will have the use of the dinning room or the breakfast room adjacent to the kitchen, since we never use it. This is a little bit of a challenge, the subway is about 2 miles away, and the hill is pretty steep. Car recommended. You will love the house.
