Seraphin's bedroom @ La Magnanerie de Séraphin

The house is an old stone ‘mas’ which renovation was recently completed by a couple of French Australian artists. This old magnanerie is now oozing with charm, comfort, and history. La Chambre de Seraphin is a very quiet and very fresh room, full of light and looking over a courtyard . The adjoining library is a delightful peaceful space with a comfortable couch another place to relax, read or write. It is indeed a charming environment for a siesta, to rest, read, write or simply meditate! The space The house is an old stone ‘mas’ which once was a magnanerie and that had been abandoned for 19 years until renovation began, in September 2016. As many as possible of the old features were retained, including the magnificent “voutins,” a succession of ceiling vaults throughout the house. The spaces were completely opened using large steel exposed beams and a new polished concrete floor was poured, giving the old mas a brand new lease of life. The ground floor is now a completely open plan kitchen, living, and dining room. Your hosts will prepare gourmet breakfast and diner on request ( table d'hotes) and the long table and benches offer the perfect setting to enjoy meals. The kitchen (which is not for guest to cook) opens up onto a large back patio where breakfast can be enjoyed in the early morning sun. The living room baths in light with its three sets of French doors opening out onto the front terrace, where you can enjoy an ‘apero’ contemplating the sunset before dinner. La Chambre de Seraphin is our guest bedroom. It is furnished with vintage pieces, has a double bed, 2 bedside tables and lamps, and a small sitting area with its own writing desk. Vintage concrete tiles make for a cool floor in the heat of summer. There is also a large walk-in wardrobe to store your belongings and suitcases out of your way during your sojourn. It is indeed a charming, very quiet, and inviting environment for a siesta to rest, read, write or simply meditate! This room also has its own private en-suite bathroom. Fitted with a vintage ‘baignoire sabot’ (a sit-in half bath), in which you can soak or have a shower (or both!).
