Hiddenside now offers 2 unique accommodations; The Villa and The Lodge, offering accommodation for up-to 23 guests. We strive to keep our accommodations simple, very comfy, clean and maintained to European standards. Both The Villa and The Lodge provide breath-taking views being situated in the heart of the Jungle. Hiddenside "Heritage meets Nature". Its surroundings are on a natural landscape home to native trees, jungle and endemic species of birds and other fauna & flora. There are frequent visits of elephants even during the dry season due to the abundance of natural springs in the property. We also strive to provide you with serenity in its purest form, enjoy nature & all local activities authentically. This active village is non-commercialised and we do everything possible to preserve it. It is an ideal place for artists, inspirational for writers, poets & more so to relax outdoors and enjoy the calmness of the inherited untouched landscape. Children can enjoy its safe haven too. All historical tourist attractions are easily accessible in a vehicle & are within reach in a short span of time. The Villa comprises of three double bedrooms with en-suite and a large family room(Tamarind) with en-suite. Subject to availability you can book all 4 rooms in the entire villa, if you have up to 8 guests 3 rooms will be allocated for the entire villa. It has two indoor reception rooms and one outdoor courtyard. The additional bedroom with separate entrance is listed as " Tamarind Room". If you have more than 8 guests, please book room "Tamarind" to accommodate 4 more guests at The Villa. Each room has its own entrance in addition to internal access and kept far apart from the other accommodating independent living as well as a family if preferred. The rooms and indoor receptions are strictly non-smoking areas. Introducing Hiddenside’s latest addition to the family - The Lodge. Retreat to The Hiddenside Lodge situated in the wilderness, featuring a rooftop ideal for birdwatching and relaxing above the treetops. The Lodge offers 3 stunning apartments accommodating up to 3 guests each. Homely one-bedroom apartments, complete with a balcony offering breath taking views, being located in the heart of the jungle. Fully furnished with kitchenettes, these apartments provide a serene and comfortable stay, perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in nature's beauty. Pool access is available to The Lodge guests if in the same group as Villa guests, if not subject to availability. To stay at The Hiddenside Lodge, please request 'The Lodge' upon booking. Each apartment will be priced at $80 per night for up to 2 people. An additional guest will be set at $25 per night. All bedrooms are air-conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms with hot water. Smoking and consumption of alcohol are permitted in the designated areas. All rooms have comfortable beds and bedding arrangements. Except the kitchen, Guests have access to any part of the property and the outdoor for their relaxation and enjoyment as long as it will not disturb other guests in the property if any. Pool access is available to The Lodge guests if in the same group as Villa guests, if not subject to availability. If guests wants to do their own cooking and making the tea/coffee, they have to notify us at the time of reservation. You have to pay Rs 5000.00 per pay to reserve the kitchen for your exclusive right under the supervision of the Caretaker. The guests have to bring all their provisions or buy from us. We will only provide you with a gas cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and required utensils The staff of Hiddenside and friendly neighbours will help and guide you during your stay with us. We will ensure that you will be looked after, feel as you haven't left home. Our staff will be yours. “Hiddenside" and its surrounding landscapes are rich with native trees, pure jungles, endemic species of birds and other, natural water ponds and tanks. We have frequent visits our borders by wild elephants simply because there are no shortages of water even in the midst of drought season. We will ensure that you will enjoy serenity at its best and see all unspoilt nature and real village activities in the most natural way. This remote village is not commercialised and we do everything possible to keep it in the same manner. Tourist attractions by car; • The Lion Rock (Sigiria), Pidurangala Rock, Ritigala Mountains and Minneriya National Park - in 15 to 20 minutes. • Dambulla temple - 15 minutes • City of Anuradhapura - 60 minutes • City of Pollonnaruwa - 45 minutes • The sandy beaches in Trincomalee – 90 minutes • Kandy - 70 minutes • Safari Eco Park – 20 minutes • Jaffna – 4 hours • Batticaloa – 1hr 10minutes It is only 5.6km from our villa to the A6 highway at Digampathaha junction. Private transport is available for hire on request for excursions. Public transport can be used to travel throughout the country as well. (A free tuktuk transfer from main road to villa,Please contact owner at the villa if you require to book a tour or a excursion. 1. Breakfast is complementary. Set menu for the day - Lunch & Dinner $12 per person. Charges for kids from 4yrs to 12 yrs - lunch & dinner is $8 per child. 2. Please place your meals requirements after breakfast on the day. 3. In the case of Instant bookings, breakfast will not be provided on the 1st morning. 4. In the case of bookings with notice of 2 days or more, breakfast will be provided. 5. No drivers or tour guides are allowed to have meals or stay at The Villa or The Lodge. 6. Driver quarters are available for one. The charges are $6 per night per person with breakfast. If the guests have dinner at the villa the driver gets complementary dinner. 7. Dinner for children under 4 years of age are free. 8. You will faintly hear the prayers said in our local Buddhist temple around 5.30-6.30am and 6-7 pm. 9. We endeavour to keep The Villa and The Lodge insect free at all times. Sometimes you might find the odd small frog or two in the bathroom and toilet. They are harmless but if you are feeling uncomfortable please call us for assistance. 10. In case of a electricity failure in the district our generator will start and will only be sufficient to provide you electricity for lights, ceiling fans and the kitchen appliances to work but NOT the air conditioners. 11. In case of air condition break down in the night please bare with us by using ceiling fans until we can attend to it on the next day. 12. Laundry services available for $3 per wash. If ironed $5 per wash. 13. Please speak to staff if you require jungle safari booked.
