Description

Stunning views from this comfortable, quiet, waterside home on the marina at Mountbatten. Contemporary style, ideal for family/ couples/ friends on a break. It's a town house with stairs, not suitable for those with mobility issues or children under 12. The three tranquil bedrooms are on the upper floors, all with their own bathroom. Open plan living on ground floor with terrace. Utility room. Snug Parking on driveway for 2 cars. Private road. Key lockbox. Fast Fibre Wifi connection The space On the water's edge, so perfect for soaking up that wonderful view and for watching boats being expertly manouvered in the marina. Experience a little Devon heaven yourself in this wonderfully relaxing home. Amazing views and sunsets. The famous South West coast path is close by (although due to subsidence of the coastal path at the steps, walkers now need to follow the main road towards Turnchapel village). See Guidebook for more ideas for spending Days out/ local activities. Three lovely bedrooms have their own private bathroom or ensuite with rainhead shower. Sleep well (light-restricting curtains) in the very comfortable beds / feather (or equivalent) duvets with good quality linen and towels. The large and airy second floor bedroom has a freestanding bathtub (plus separate walk-in rainhead shower) - indulge in the supplied bath bubbles: bring a bath robe if you’re modest. Two (first floor) bedrooms both have double beds & whilst the top floor room offers a generously sized super-king bed - this can easily be converted to twin beds (please advise if you require this option when booking). Sociable open-plan living on the ground floor, with terrace & chairs overlooking the marina, which offers comfortable seating for 6 for dining and relaxing. We aim to provide a high standard of comfort when offering the property for your stay as we appreciate that holidays with friends/family are precious. Locally sourced sheepskin rugs are provided to enhance each sofa plus throws/ blankets. The well equipped kitchen has all the usual amenities: fridge/freezer, dishwasher, Neff electric oven & induction hob, microwave, utensils, variety of tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar & basic condiments / herbs & spices etc. Dishwasher & washing up/ cleaning products supplied. Wall mounted TV now enabled with a Roku stick ready for your own selections and wall mounted flat screen electric fire for extra cosiness (please use sparingly as this ‘eats’ expensive electricity). Gas boiler for hot water & central heating using Wiser smart technology, solar panels help with electricity generation, plus other eco-friendly utilities. Wifi is via speedy fast fibre broadband to facilitate ‘work from home’ or to satisfy all those internet requirements. Ground floor utility room with washing machine, toilet / wash basin. Three hair driers in family bathroom/ master & larger double bedroom. Key lockbox provided for easy access. The popular Bridge bar/ restaurant is conveniently only 50m away (open for breakfast, lunch, dinner/ take away). Walk to the Mountbatten pier (10-15 mins) and stop off at People’s Coffee on the pier - it’s a great spot to take in wonderful views of Plymouth Sound. Turnchapel village is approx. 15 mins walk away & has traditional pubs, plus a waterside café: The Guardroom. The deli: La Bouche (open to non-members) now offer daily catering at the Fort Stamford leisure Centre just up the road - perhaps book for a non-members pool swim and enjoy a hearty breakfast afterwards. You can buy milk & some supplies from the Boathouse marina shop by the marina hangars but the nearest grocery store is a good 15 mins walk to Hooe and there’s a big hill on the way back! This home may better suit those with a car although, by taking the Mountbatten ferry over to the Barbican, you will find a couple of food stores close by. This Spring sees the start of the Beryl Cook: Pride and Joy exhibition at The Box, Plymouth. An impressive collection of around 80 works, running 24th January – 31st May 2026, celebrating the centenary of her birth with paintings, sculptures, textiles, and personal archives. It’s free to enter but booking advisable. See online. Do send me a message if you have any questions/ need more recommendations. Guest handbook /heating instructions and Wifi passwords left out for you. Guest access The entire home is available to you (although there is a locked owner's cupboard in the top room). Please respect owners personal possessions. Do use my prize winning crystal glassware but please wash carefully, by hand, after use! Other things to note *Not suitable for those with mobility issues due to number of stairs or for infants/ children under 12 : Terraces/ balconies with sliding doors on each of the three levels. *Shower room window (top floor) is permanently at 'trickle vent' position to allow ventilation after showering/ bathing. * We do not have EV charging facilities for electric cars at the house but there are fast charging points in two public car parks within 0.1 miles. *We have awesome neighbours on each side of our home. Please help us maintain the friendliness of our street by respecting others who live here especially with noise inside the home and when returning later at night. * normally between 2-4 guests stay: charges reflect this. There will be a small additional charge for a 5th and 6th guest. Maximum number of guests is 6. * No dogs / pets live here or are allowed. * Safety: Smoke detectors are interlinked & positioned on each level (with battery back up). Carbon monoxide monitor in living room. Fire blanket provided in kitchen. Close the living room door whenever you leave the house & at the end of your stay. Do not use candles or similar & don’t leave electric fire unattended. No smoking/ vaping indoors.
