A beautiful, large, well-maintained home in a superb country location with wide open views over orchards to the sea. The secure, private pool is set in a large orchard garden. Guests can pick fruit in season for their own use. Large patio and several other outside spaces in shade and sun, also large umbrellas supplied. Surrounded by farms and villages, but close to sea, shops & great restaurants. It is child and baby friendly and we have two different sized cots, plus high chairs if necessary. The space This is a beautiful, very spacious, country home tastefully decorated with a blend of traditional Portuguese tiles and African art. Floor tiles are lovely and light throughout the house. With 3 large double bedrooms and three bathrooms (two en-suite), the main house is perfectly spacious for up to 7 people. There is also a double bedroom with bathroom en-suite and private patio in the garden near the pool and kitchen which can be RENTED separately. You will be charged extra for each guest over 6. The house is situated well back from the road on a 2-acre plot with wide open views of our garden and the rolling olive and citrus grove countryside unfolding down to the sea at the quaint village of Fuzeta with its gorgeous beaches - all from our large covered verandah. Our garden is a paradise for birds and people alike with its olive, almond, fig and carob trees interspersed with peach, nectarine, granadilla, mango, avocado pear, pear, lemon, orange, banana, quince, clementine, grapefruit trees to which guests can help themselves when they are in season for your personal use. The large, lighted pool is secluded and situated below and in front of the house with sun loungers and parasols and the extensive surrounds are covered with light terracotta tiles. It is walled and gated so safe for children. (The pool is unheated.) Our home is equipped with free internet and satellite TV, Play-station 3 (1 game), table football outside to keep the teenagers happy and a full-size table tennis table under cover! We also have air conditioning/heating units in all rooms (except bathrooms and utility room) with overhead fans in the master bedroom and kitchen. The house is cool in summer and cozy in winter. We have installed a Scandinavian-designed rotating fireplace which heats both the lounge and dining areas. Peaceful, relaxing and secure our home is in a lovely, quiet country location. There are several local towns and beaches within a few minutes' drive of the house with a wide choice of restaurants, supermarkets and weekend markets: Moncarapacho 3.5km. Lively Fuseta with its town and lagoon beach and ferries to the islands, 5km. Tavira 10km. Olhao and its exciting, diverse market on Saturdays, 7km. A nine-hole golf course is within walking distance. Best local fish eatery 5km. Faro airport 30km. Access to A22, 6km. Guest access N.B. Changes from October 2018: We will be spending more time on the property ourselves, probably in the cottage, leaving the main house (7 beds) for guests. Please check before you book. You will have access to the whole house and garden. You may pick fruit for your own use - but please leave some for the next guests - or ourselves! The tractor/lawnmower is off limits. Other things to note Please note that the Algarve is noted for the barking of dogs at night. We are, unfortunately, no exception. Remember ear plugs! You may like to bring an eye mask if the sunlight disturbs you in bed in the mornings. Also, please note that we have two satellite dishes - one dish is presently directed towards a German transmitter and one English speaking channels.
