It is within easy walking distance of the boatyard, the town dock, boat rentals, the Catholic church, a popular restaurant, the free island bus service and a nice 2-mile walking loop. The surrounding area of Mount Desert Island is rich with beauty and loaded with things to do. Hiking and biking on Acadia National Park trails, sailing, motor boating, beachcombing, swimming, rock climbing, golfing, whale watching, antique shopping, and eating delicious seafood are among the many activities within a very short drive.
