Country Cottage Next to Beach
This is an idyllic country retreat that has been completely refurbished to a very high standard whilst retaining the character of the property The property is located in a private estate and is located close to the shores of Rosemarkie beach The holiday retreat has everything to offer in the Highlands of Scotland from historic sites, coastal & hilltop walks, beach sport activities, golfing, fishing or simply relaxing in one of the most scenic parts of Scotland and enjoying the wildlife. This amazing cottage is located in a quiet location on a private estate. You're just steps from the beach, half a mile from the Fortrose and Rosemarkie Golf Club, and a leisurely walk to shops and pubs. The cottage has 3 lovely double bedrooms one with en suite and is ideal for families or friends. Rosemarkie Bay is on the magnificent Moray Firth. It is gorgeous in every season, with a sandy beach that's within strolling distance of the cottage, an excellent cafe, and panoramic views towards Fort George. You may be lucky enough to spot some of the bottlenose dolphins that live in the bay, especially if you walk up to the lighthouse, but, even if you don't, the views are still memorable. The calm waters are good for a dip (if you're brave enough - it is Scotland, after all!), the sand is perfect for castles, and there are rock pools to explore. Fairy Glen Falls is another picturesque spot within walking distance of the cottage, and a good choice if it's too hot for the beach or it's been raining. Staying at Kincurdie Cottage makes it easy to explore. It's only half an hour's drive to Inverness where you'll find a wide array of places to eat, drink and shop, as well as galleries, museums and historic churches. The site of the Battle of Culloden is also about 30 minutes by car from the cottage. It's hard not to be moved as you stand on the site where 1,600 men were killed in under an hour in what was one of Britain's bloodiest battles. Cromarty is eight miles north of Rosemarkie. You'll feel as if you've stepped back in time as you walk along narrow lanes lined with remarkably well-preserved houses which date from the 1700s and were certainly built to last. The landscape around Ross and Cromarty is some of the finest in the entire Highlands. In addition to walking and cycling, guests enjoy it through horseriding, playing golf, sailing or taking a sightseeing cruise, and fishing. There's an attraction or activity for every weather so, while you may be relaxed, you'll never be bored.
