For more activities, visit the Haut-Rhône Tourisme website. I provide IGN maps, marked routes, tourist information, books and games. Guest access You can get there either on foot or by car. You don't need a 4x4, but there is still 1.8 km of stony mountain road before you reach the refuge. It's tricky if your car is too low. You can park the car 1.8 km away in the village of Etranginaz if you don't want to take any risks with your car. Allow half an hour for the walk. My opinion. If you drive slowly, it's OK. Avoid doing it several times a day. It's more of an adventure if you come on foot. As a micro-adventure, I recommend coming by train to the Seyssel-Corbonod SNCF station on the Lyon-Geneva line. Then on foot along a lovely marked path for an hour and a half, among vineyards, a waterfall, a fountain and forest. Possible by mountain bike. If using an electric mountain bike, be aware that there is no charging point. Ideal on horseback. It's not ideal by bike: three quarters of the route is on the road, but a quarter is on an unsuitable gravel path. Not suitable for road motorbikes. Other things to note The refuge is rustic and its access by road makes it an unusual destination but not suitable for all people wishing for more ease and comfort as in a cottage or a hotel with TV, wifi, shower, hot running water,...
