A perfect artist or writers retreat We are walking distance to the Ashokan Resevoir and driving distance to the many hiking trails and lakes this region has to offer. Wander out back to my meadow with a stone circle and magical forest. The apartment is in a separate building from the house. You have your own private entrance outside and upstairs. Sometimes I'm here, sometimes away but there is a lock box for you and help available by my housemate or neighbor if you need it. If I am in town I love meeting new people so just text, call or email me if you would like to meet. We are very conveniently located on 9 acres in between Woodstock and Kingston (10-15 minutes from ea.), in a quiet, somewhat rural area. Rhinebeck and New Paltz are easy drives.. Our safe private location makes this place a plus. Feel free to roam the beautiful property. We are 5 minutes from the Ashokan Reservoir (great to watch sunset), and the Rail Trail, excellent for walking with views of the reservoir. If you are a hiking enthusiast you are close to Overlook Mountain, Minnewaska, and numerous other different levels of hiking and waterfall areas. Levon Helm studio not far way, as is KTD Monastery and Opus 40. Woodstock and is close for night life featuring lots of live music. Hunter Mountain or Belleayre for skiing. There are many cafes, bistros and restaurants in Woodstock and Kingston, too numerous to list. . For close-by take out (or informal sit down) there is Blue Mountain Bistro to Go. and if you feel like a drive deeper up into the mountains go to Phoenicia- a great little town to visit about 25 minutes up route 28. There is parking right in front of your entrance. You could also bicycle around the Ashokan Resevoir and other areas around here. There is a lake within 5 minutes where you could hike and kayak if you have one. You need to have a car here. Technically you could walk to two restaurants within 15-20 minute walk but you will want to explore our beautiful area. If you took a bus from NYC to Kingston, a cab to here would be about $20-$25 each way. There are some great dining choices within 2 - 5 minutes drive if you don't feel like going into Woodstock or Kingston.
