Kenmore Cottage - A spacious, affordable, single level apartment in Brisbane's leafy, highly-regarded western suburb of Kenmore. Our accommodation has a private entrance and every facility to make your stay totally comfortable in this handy location (for the City, and Indooroopilly to Moggill, and surrounds including Brookfield, Pullenvale, Anstead and Bellbowrie). The space This is a fully self-contained, private & quiet, garden apartment attached to our single-storey family home with off-street parking for one vehicle. Being a single-storey residence, you don't have the distraction of noise from anyone living upstairs who might disturb your peace and quiet. Built in recent years, this is a modern, contemporary and open plan unit. The single-level apartment is air-conditioned throughout and is accessed by a private, garden-lined path which leads down to your very own front door. Kenmore Cottage has one ensuite bedroom with a queen sized bed and a king single bed in the loungeroom. Kenmore Cottage is the ideal location for anyone needing access to Brisbane's well-regarded, western suburbs whether you are travelling with a car or using public transport. Public transport is very close so getting around, either to the City, Indooroopilly, Toowong, the University of Queensland or out to Moggill/Bellbowrie, is very easy. Although this is a very safe area, security screens have been installed throughout to offer you peace of mind. Security cameras are installed around the outside of the house. Also there is an intercom to the main house should you need us. The tasteful décor features includes original artwork by local artists. The living/dining/kitchen area is a light and spacious open plan design . The dining area has a dining table with views of the trees down to the park. For your down time, enjoy watching the large flat screen TV (and DVD player with dozens of DVDs to watch), listening to the digital radio or reading from the books offered while relaxing in the very comfortable leather reclining twin lounge chair. The fully equipped kitchen has a fridge, a freezer and even a coffee machine. A starter pack of milk, sugar, tea, coffee and incidentals is provided. The queen sized bed is fitted with 1000 thread count sheets to ensure a comfy night's sleep. There is a TV in the bedroom for those who like to watch television in bed and a sizeable ensuite complete with fluffy towels. Beach towels are also provided. There is a king-single daybed in the lounge which doubles as a sofa during the day and a comfy bed at night. Kenmore is located within 20 mins of the city (30 mins from the airport) and is a quiet, leafy suburb with abundant birdlife. Locally, we are handy to venues including Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens wedding venue as well as Pullenvale Hall and Brookfield Hall. We are only 20 minutes drive from St Lucia and Indooroopilly golf courses which are also popular event venues. Kenmore provides easy access to the Gold Coast and it's Theme Parks (45 mins - 1 hr), the Sunshine Coast including Australia Zoo (1 hr - 1 hr 15 mins), Ipswich (20mins) and Toowoomba - gateway to the bush (1 hr 15 mins). Within 200 metres of Kenmore Cottage there are: - quiet bush-walks along meandering Moggill Creek - buses to Indooroopilly Shopping Centre, the City and Queensland University (UQ) - hairdressing salon - parks with play equipment Within 1-2km are: - buses to the CBD (every 15 mins) - cafes serving breakfast, lunch and great coffee - shopping centre with supermarket - churches - schools - local shopping centre with all amenities, including a library - restaurants - pub - parks with play equipment & BBQ facilities Within 10 mins are: - Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary where you can cuddle a koala, feed kangaroos & see a platypus and koalas. - Indooroopilly Shopping Centre (one of Brisbane's largest shopping centres). - movie cinemas Please note, we have made changes to the dining table (now seats 4) and recliners (now a 2-seater recliner) to give you more space during your stay. Guest access Guests have access to the garden area outside the cottage. This area is only shared by the owners when maintenance is necessary (or vegetables are ready to be harvested). There is access to a shared washing machine on the back patio, and the cottage has it's own clothes line taking advantage of Brisbane's great weather. You are welcome to use the shared, covered, back patio which includes an alfresco dining area with BBQ surrounded by a tropical garden. The Cottage is designed to minimise tripping hazards. There is a safety rail in the shower also. There isn't a rail beside the toilet. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other questions regarding accessibility.
