Situated in Braunton, a few minutes drive from the popular surfing beaches of Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay, Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, Mims’ Cottage is a delightful Victorian cottage and outhouse, lovingly restored and fully kitted out for families. Sleeping up to 8, this 3 bedroom cottage boasts a small 2 storey outhouse complete with additional kingsize loft bedroom and games room, including ping pong and darts. A few moments walk from Braunton village centre, it's an ideal holiday location. The space Mims’ Cottage offers charming and comfortable, Covid-safe accommodation for families, including a high chair and cot, toys, books and games, comfortable beds, chairs and blankets. Downstairs you'll find original features such as a woodburning stove in a cosy and comfortable living room, a tiled entryway that leads to a modern fitted kitchen with flagstone floors (bring your slippers!) as well as a downstairs loo, and a bright extension used for dining. A well-maintained, night-lit garden offers an outside dining area and BBQ, with stepping stones leading down to a recently restored 2 storey outhouse. This offers a games room where you can find ping pong, darts, sun loungers, sledges - useful for sand sledging in nearby Braunton Burrows - and outdoor games such as croquet, football (there's a pitch across the road), bodyboards and beach items. Upstairs, you'll find an airy stone-walled loft accessed by a ladder and hatch, complete with a comfortable king-size bed for a peaceful night's sleep. This completes sleeping arrangements that include a charming kingsize room with an ensuite bathroom, a 2nd bedroom with two single beds and a delightful 3rd double room along with a shower room. And you can find everything you need in Braunton village, from some of the best local fish and chips, charming pubs, bars, restaurants, shops and cafes - it's got everything you need! Small dogs are welcome for an additional fee. Our clean team adhere to strict Covid-safe hygiene procedures. Early check- in or out may not be possible to ensure this. Guest access Guests have access to all items in the cottage including games, books for a variety of ages and tastes, kitchen equipment and crockery, hand towels and bath mats, bedding, blankets, cot, high chair, small dog bed and bowls, laundry facilities including washing machine and condenser dryer and bike racks for three bikes. We do ask guests to bring their own bath/ beach towels. The outhouse offers ping pong/table tennis, darts, croquet, football, sledges, yoga mat, sun loungers, toys and snorkelling equipment as well as stepladder access to an additional bedroom. Daily housekeeping (except Sundays) can be arranged. Other things to note Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival after 4pm. Departure at 10am. Late checkout may be possible if not guests are due to check in same day. This is due to strict Covid-safe cleaning procedures. Please ensure you bring bath towels as we only provide hand towels. We have removed cushions and throws as part of our Covid-safe procedures. Ceiling beams in the outhouse and in the third bedroom ceiling in the cottage are low. Please mind your heads! The main staircase (only a short flight) has no handrail and as such the property may not be suitable for guests with mobility challenges. There is a stair gate for toddlers and dogs. Parking is outside the property and additional parking can be found opposite or paid parking can be found on the main road leading to Braunton village. Please take care as there is no pavement on the road directly outside the property.
