You can wade across Beech Creek a or walk across the swinging bridge to trails that give access to about 3/4 miles up-river. If you would like to hike the trails they are marked with standard trail blazes and we have selected the colors of trails by difficulty, from white to blue to black. I will be happy to hike with you or you can take our dog shadow who is an excellent guide. The black trails are steep with steps or zig-zags but are well developed trails. You will need to be prepared for poison ivy prevention by wearing long pants, long sleeve shirt, high socks, hiking shoes or old tennis shoes, and gloves. We weed whack the sides of most trails spray bush killer on poison ivy but we do not get it all. There are ropes that will assist with descending and then climbing in some areas. There are a number of small streams along the way. In the spring, summer and fall you may want to swim and enjoy the flumes and waterfalls. Water shoes or old tennis shoes, old cut off jeans make the rocks easier to handle. In the winter you can walk along the banks, see undercuts and huge rock faces as well as seeing the powerful river flumes and falls.
