Wake up to the sound of a tumbling beck and unwind in peaceful Lakeland surroundings. A modern, self-contained, dog-friendly retreat tucked away in Thornthwaite just 5 minutes from Keswick, overlooking Comb Beck. Sleeps 2 adults (with a sofa-bed for 2 more) and welcomes up to 2 dogs. Located at the foot of Whinlatter Forest, the Michelin-starred The Cottage in the Wood nearby. You can walk from your door onto the fells or relax in the garden to birdsong, waterfalls and red squirrels. The space THE SPACE ++ Sitting room A good sized room with wood burner, TV with Roku for extra channels, WiFi, board games, and books. French windows open directly onto the terrace looking onto the garden and Comb Beck. A sofa bed converts into a comfortable, full-sized double futon. Under cover outside are chairs and table ++ Bedroom Double bed, chest of drawers and hair drier ++ Kitchen Fridge/freezer, microwave, hob and oven. Fully equipped for your catering needs ++ Bathroom Walk-in shower. Towels are provided ++ Outside Large terraced garden, shared with the house and crossed by the beck and a waterfall FOR YOUR CAR ++ Parking One space on the far side of the gravelled area next to the house ++ Charging 13A outdoor socket is available for charging electric cars Guest access Guests are welcome to use the garden where you'll discover benches and seats. A bridge crosses the beck to access the garden on the far side, where there is a gate leading onto the lane towards Braithwaite Other things to note We welcome 1 or 2 well behaved and house-trained dogs by prior arrangement. We charge an additional £25 per stay for each dog. Please let us know when you book if you want the extra bedding for the sofa bed. Babies or children are also welcome but please be aware they must be supervised at all times, particularly in the terraced garden. It has many steps, significant drops between terraces and the beck at the bottom. For safety children of any age should never play in the beck unsupervised. We can provide a large travel cot and high chair for your little ones. Please ask for what you need when you book.
