Description
This is an off-grid, self-sufficient, self contained, Earthship studio apartment in the semi-rural Adelaide Hills, 45min drive from the CBD. Guests will experience a unique stay with a tiny eco-footprint. Close to Adelaide Hills wineries, golf course, bush-walks and other tourist attractions. The Freney family live next door in a passive solar strawbale home - close by if you need advice on sailing the "ship". A place where you can experience the future of sustainable housing! The space Guests will need to respect the limitations of the off-grid systems for power, water and sewage and take care with the natural building finishes. The queen size bed is a 100% latex futon mattress, low to the ground so it may be difficult to get in and out of bed if you are elderly. Sheets are luxurious 1200 TC pure cotton. Delicious vegetarian breakfast ingredients, including free range eggs and honey from the property, supplied (but not prepared/served). Kitchen includes double gas burner, under bench fridge (with tiny freezer compartment), microwave and wood oven which is great for making pizzas (although not recommended for use during summer months). Fire wood is supplied from May to October. Guest access Guests will have the Earthship all to themselves. Other things to note There is a steep access track from the carpark behind the Earthship to the Earthship so it is not ideal for people with mobility issues i.e. wheelchairs and walkers although it is possible with some assistance.
