Located in the heart of this charming fishing village. Now a comfortable holiday cottage our 4 bedroomed Victorian property was formerly the police station. The house includes lots of interesting original features, including the cell doors! The space Beckfield, formerly the old police station in Robin Hood's Bay offers comfortable self catering family accommodation that can sleep up to eight. Beckfield is a stone-built detached property situated down the hill in the old village of Robin Hood's Bay. Built in 1886, the original purpose of the property was as the police station and many interesting features still remain. The house is within a two minute walk of the beach and all the local amenities, and is centrally heated and double glazed throughout. The tiered patio offers a spacious outside area with views over New Road and is perfect for barbeques or just sitting and watching the world go by. Additionally, there are outbuildings including a coal house, W.C. and wash-house. Beckfield is home to one of the famous "spots" in the bay, when the house was purchased by the family of the current owners in 1938 a gate for the house was made for them by the famous Thompson of Kilburn. His mouse trademark is a favourite with visitors. Please note that the house is accessed via steps from the road, the external photo helps show how many the house inside is on 3 levels. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house. Bedding and towels are provided, n.b. please supply own towels for beach use. Parking: Fisherhead carpark is located next door to the property and some limited spaces are available to visitors to pre-book and pre-pay direct with Fisherhead. Public Car Park Locations & Location Codes: Bank Top Car Park (opposite The Victoria Hotel): Use RingGo Location Code 4640. Station Car Park (opposite The Grosvenor Hotel): Use RingGo Location Code 4641. Important Tips: Patchy Signal: Mobile phone reception can be very weak in Robin Hood's Bay. It is highly recommended to download the app and set up your account, vehicle, and payment details before you arrive. Alternative Payments: If you cannot use the app, the machines accept coins and cards. Other things to note Access to the house is via external stairs and is therefore not suitable for those with limited mobility and there is no wheelchair access.
